Tom Aspinall targets winner of Pereira-Gane UFC White House bout

Tom Aspinall is looking forward to facing Ciryl Gane or Alex Pereira down the road. | Getty/UFC

Tom Aspinall remains on the mend following eye surgery, but he’ll be an interested observer when Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane square off for the interim heavyweight title at UFC White House on June 14.

Aspinall made his first title defense against Gane at UFC 321 this past October, but the bout was halted in the first stanza after Gane poked the reigning champ in both eyes. It has been a lengthy ordeal for Aspinall to recover from the fouls, despite skepticism that he was looking for a way out of the fight. At the moment, Aspinall understands why the promotion booked Pereira and Gane for an interim belt.

"I mean, who else is going to fight? The division's on its ass," Aspinall said on his YouTube channel. "There's not many big fights to make, is there? So they've got to do what they've got to do.”Waiting for Clearance While the last update reg…

Dana White: Jon Jones was never considered for UFC White House fight

Jon Jones was left out of the UFC White House festivities. | Getty/UFC

While the rumor mill may have indicated otherwise, Dana White claims Jon Jones was never truly considered for a spot on the UFC White House card.

”Never, ever, ever, which I told you guys 100,000 times was Jon Jones even remotely in my mind to fight at the White House,” White said at the UFC 326 post-fight press conference. “First of all, I’ve told you why I wouldn’t do it, and No. 2, some guy with Meta glasses on filmed him talking about his hips, that his hips are so bad and I don’t know if you guys saw that flag football game where he can barely run. Jon Jones, he retired because of his hips. He’s got arthritis in his hips. Apparently doctors say he should have hip replacements.”

Eddie Hearn: UFC needs Tom Aspinall more than he needs them

Eddie Hearn believes Tom Aspinall can do without the UFC.

Aspinall (15-3) has had a minor falling out with the UFC since his no contest in his first heavyweight title defense against Ciryl Gane last year. Aspinall decided not to continue after a double eye poke from Gane in the first round. While Aspinall has since undergone multiple surgeries, Dana White hinted that the heavyweight champion’s injury wasn’t as severe as he made it seem.

Aspinall recently made headlines by signing with the management of Eddie Hearn, who isn’t exactly an ally of White. Hearn has since said Aspinall’s purses surprised him. According to the Matchroom Boxing chairman, Aspinall would have earned 10 times as much in boxing. Hearn believes the Aspinall doesn’t need the UFC as much as the promotion needs him right now. According to Hearn, the UFC requires heavyweight stars right now.

Donte Johnson ‘slightly disappointed’ with win over Cody Brundage at UFC 326

Donte Johnson isn’t satisfied with his performance against Cody Brundage at UFC 326.

Johnson (8-0) was a massive favorite going into his sophomore UFC outing against middleweight veteran Brundage (11-9) at UFC 326 on Saturday in Las Vegas. While Johnson came out all guns blazing, Brundage took him down in the opening seconds and controlled him for most of the first round. Brundage showed composure in going toe-to-toe against the aggressive Johnson for three rounds. Johnson eventually earned a narrow split-decision victory, going to the judges' scorecards for the first time in his career. Johnson had finished all seven of his previous wins, going past the first round only in his UFC debut against Sedriques Dumas last year.

Alexander Volkov, Waldo Cortes-Acosta clash set for UFC 328

Heavyweight powerhouses will collide at UFC 328.

Alexander Volkov and Waldo Cortes-Acosta will collide at UFC 328 on May 9 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Leo Guimaraes first reported the booking on X.

Volkov is coming off a controversial split decision win over Jailton Almeida that saw him rebound from a split decision loss against Ciryl Gane. While Almeida controlled Volkov on the ground throughout the contest, he was barely able to land any damage. Volkov was riding a four-fight winning streak before his loss against Gane in 2024.

Meanwhile, Cortes-Acosta is on an impressive run as the most active UFC heavyweight. “Salsa Boy” has fought six times since March 2025, losing only to Sergei Pavlovich via decision. The Dominican is currently on a three-fight knockout streak and coming off a stoppage of Derrick Lewis.

Conor McGregor keeps fans’ White House hopes alive with social media post

Conor McGregor continues to tease a return at the White House.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will host a one-of-a-kind event at the White House on June 14. A plethora of fighters, including McGregor, have been rallying for a spot on the card. UFC CEO Dana White recently leaked a covered photo of the planning board for the lineup. The White House bill will be billed as “Freedom Fights 250,” a tribute to the 250th year of U.S. independence. Two title fights will grace the marquee.

McGregor immediately reacted to the news, saying, “freedom,” hinting that he hasn’t given up hope of a return at the White House.

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy loss against Dustin Poirier in 2021. While “Notorious” recovered within 12 months, he spent most of the year travelling around Europe in his yacht. While McGregor has been teasing a return for years now, it hasn’t come to fruition. UFC 326 weigh-in results: ‘BMF’ title fight set; 1 fight canceled

[embedded content] The Ultimate Fighting Championship kicks off March with a "BMF" title fight, which is now official following the UFC 326 weigh-ins.

The five-round "championship" main event is now set as reigning "BMF" Max Holloway will look to defend his belt against former lightweight king Charles Oliveira. Both men successfully made weight without any issue. As for the rest of the card, all fighters made weight with the exception of Jeong Yeong Lee, who had "weight management issues," and the fight against Gaston Bolanos has been canceled as a result.

Holloway (27-8) comes into the fight having defended his BMF title, which he won against Justin Gaethje, against Dustin Poirier. After falling short against Ilia Topuria to recapture the featherweight championship, "Blessed" looks to make a second defense. The 34-year-old is 4-1 in his last five fights and will look to beat Oliveira for a second time as the two previously clashed in 2015. Holloway officially weighed…

‘The Killer’ plans to execute infamous ‘Hannibal Lecter’ at Oktagon 85

Khurshed Kakhorov believes Oktagon 85 has the potential to deliver one of the most violent headliners in the promotion’s history.

With the vacant bantamweight title on the line live from the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany, “The Killer” has been tasked with taking out former Ultimate Fighting Championship prospect Igor Severino.

Severino (9-1) went viral two years ago after he infamously bit Andre Lima midway through the second round of his UFC debut. “The Hannibal” was instantly cut by the promotion but found a home with Oktagon MMA, where he’s rebranded himself after the legendary film villain and cannibal Hannibal Lecter. But Kakhorov isn’t amused by Severino’s mind games and promises to make the 22-year-old pay if he even considers chewing his way out of a defeat Saturday night.

“I can kill him, like I will kill him and put an end to this Hannibal stuff,” Kakhorov warned while sitting down with Sherdog.com. “He’s strong and dangerous. Very e…

PFL announces release of former heavyweight king Francis Ngannou

Professional Fighters League made groundbreaking news in 2023 when it signed former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight king Francis Ngannou to a contract.

After signing with PFL and the nearly unprecedented career flexibility it offered, Ngannou competed in two high-level marquee boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua before making his mark inside and outside of the SmartCage.

Helping launch the PFL Africa brand, which has given opportunities to top talent on the continent, Ngannou served as chairman. Now, after setting the table for a new generation, PFL and Ngannou are headed separate ways.

On Friday morning, PFL released a statement announcing it has released Ngannou, who competed once for the league, picking up a first-round technical knockout of Renan Ferreira:

Streaking French bantamweight meets fellow UFC veteran at PFL Brussels

A matchup of former UFC talents has been added to the PFL Brussels card.

The promotion announced on Wednesday that Taylor Lapilus will take on Jake Hadley in a bantamweight matchup on May 23 at ING Arena in Brussels, Belgium. PFL Brussels is headlined by a lightweight showdown pitting undefeated Belgian prospect Patrick Habirora against ex-UFC kingpin Benson Henderson.

The 33-year-old Frenchman has been victorious in his first three Professional Fighters League appearances, notably ending a multi-fight decision streak with a third-round TKO of Kasum Kasumov in his last outing at PFL Dubai. Lapilus went 6-2 across two separate UFC stints.

Carlos Prates: Conor McGregor likely ‘chickened out and ran away’ from UFC offer

Carlos Prates understands why Conor McGregor might not want to fight him. | Getty/UFC

While there was no formal fight offered to him by the UFC, Carlos Prates believes there may have been talks within the promotion about showdown with Conor McGregor.

Last month, McGregor revealed that he had been offered a “no name” for his next fight in a since-deleted post on social media.

‘I Wouldn’t Accept That Fight Either’ "I believe they did offer my name to McGregor and then he chickened out and ran away because I'm a tough matchup, man," Prates told Laerte Viana in a translated interview (via Championship Rounds). "The guy's been inactive for five years, and it's not even in his weight class.

"Even though his last fights were at 170 [pounds], he's not a natural 170-pounder. I'm coming in with all the hype, knocking everyone out, so if I were in his position, I wouldn't accept that fight either – no way. I think he probably wants to fight, I …
