Thus far this year, the
Ultimate Fighting Championship appears to be having an issue
with fighters coming in at their proper weights.

Headlining
UFC Vegas 113 is a bantamweight fight between contenders
Mario
Bautista and Vinicius
Oliveira. Both men successfully made weight as they look to
make a case for being in title contention.
However, four other fighters on the card came in over their weight
limits. Both Muin
Gafurov and Gianni
Vazquez came in five pounds overweight for their respective
fights against Jakub
Wiklacz and Javid
Basharat. Both heavy men will be fined 25% of their respective
purses, and the bouts will otherwise proceed as planned. Finally,
Cong
Wang and her opponent, Eduarda
Moura, missed weight by 1.5 and one pound, respectively. The
two prospective fines will offset, but none of the offending
athletes will be eligible for post-fight awards including the newly
established finish bonus.
This marks the first UFC main event for Bautista (16-3). The
32-year-old is coming off a deflating loss to Umar
Nurmagomedov, who took a clear decision over the American.
Prior to the setback, the MMA Lab fighter had won decisions over
Patrick
Mix, Jose Aldo and
Ricky
Simon. Bautista officially weighed 135.5 pounds for his first
fight of 2026.
Meanwhile, Oliveira (23-3) is riding a 4-0 streak since entering
the UFC. “Lok Dog” most recently won decisions over Kyler
Phillips, Said
Nurmagomedov and Simon. The 30-year-old Brazilian stepped on
the scale weighing 136 pounds on the dot for what will be the
biggest fight of his career so far.
UFC Vegas 113 will air in its entirety on Paramount+ on Saturday.
Prelims begin at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT, while the main card kicks off
at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
