It appears that Jon Jones<\/a> and
\nDaniel
\nCormier<\/a> will renew their rivalry as opposing coaches on a mixed
\nmartial arts reality show.<\/p>\n

On Monday, ALF Reality announced via social media that Jones and
\nCormier will coach on the third iteration of the show. Noteworthy
\nnames such as Nate Diaz<\/a>,
\nPetr
\nYan<\/a>, Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a> and Aljamain
\nSterling<\/a> have served as coaches on the Russian show in previous
\nyears. A date for the new season was not revealed.<\/p>\n

Jones was part of a past season that saw Nate Diaz<\/a>
\ninvolved in a
\nbrawl<\/a> with one of the participating fighters. Diaz, Jake Shields<\/a>
\nand the rest of the team would leave the set and return home to
\nCalifornia as a result. Jones was not involved in the incident.

Tense History<\/h2>\n

Jones and Cormier had one of the most intense rivalries in
\nUFC<\/a> history. They initially met in a light heavyweight title
\nbout at UFC 182, with Jones winning via unanimous decision. \u201cBones\u201d
\nwould also win the rematch via third-round stoppage at UFC 214, but
\nthe result was overturned to a no contest after Jones failed a drug
\ntest.<\/p>\n

Their animosity was evident outside the Octagon, including one
\nbrawl at a media day event in 2014 followed by an
\ninfamous hot mic interaction<\/a> during an interview with both men
\non ESPN shortly thereafter. Over the years, Jones and Cormier have
\ncontinued to take shots at one other on social media and through
\nvarious interviews.<\/p>\n

Jones, who is widely regarded as perhaps the greatest light
\nheavyweight of all time, returned to capture UFC heavyweight gold
\nin 2023. He defended the belt once against Stipe
\nMiocic<\/a> in 2024 before retiring again earlier this year. \u201cBones\u201d
\nended that retirement with designs on competing at the UFC White
\nHouse event slated for June, though it remains unclear if his wish
\nto participate will be granted.<\/p>\n

Cormier retired from MMA in 2020 and is a constant presence at UFC
\nevents as an analyst. Though he never got the better of Jones, \u201cDC\u201d
\nwon titles at light heavyweight and heavyweight during a memorable
\nOctagon tenure.<\/p>\n
