It appears the Ultimate Fighting Championship<\/a> is not the only
\nnoteworthy MMA organization changing broadcast partners this
\nyear.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Legacy Fighting Alliance<\/a> announced<\/a> that it would be linking up with Vice
\nTV for the entirety of 2026. Per the agreement, Vice TV will
\nbroadcast 25 live events throughout the year, the first of which
\nLFA 224<\/a> on Jan. 16 in Prior Lake,
\nMinnesota.<\/p>\n

For several years prior, the LFA operated with its events airing on
\nUFC Fight Pass. While the rumors that Fight Pass was disintegrating
\nproved unfounded, a few leagues did change their arrangements
\nincluding this company, as well as Unified MMA and Samourai MMA in
\nCanada. UAE Warriors and Lux Fight League both reportedly re-upped
\ntheir deal with UFC Fight Pass, with unconfirmed claims that the
\nUFC had changed the terms.<\/p>\n

LFA is Back on Television<\/h2>\n

Before it worked with UFC Fight Pass, the LFA\u2014a merged entity of
\nthe now-defunct Resurrection Fighting Alliance<\/a> and Legacy Fighting Championship<\/a> leagues\u2014ran its
\nevents on the AXS TV network. According to the release, Vice TV
\nremains as part of roughly 40 million cable and subscription
\npackages in the U.S., and it appears that it also has a channel on
\nBrazilian television as well.<\/p>\n

LFA CEO Ed Soares included a statement in the release, which
\nread:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to announced an exciting new partnership with Vice
\nTV,\u201d Soares wrote. \u201cThe LFA\u2019s mission has always been to showcase
\nthe sport\u2019s top up-and-coming fighters in front of the widest
\naudience possible. Vice has built a loyal audience that values
\nauthenticity and is known for its unfiltered, ground-level
\nstorytelling. Together, this partnership will bring the untold
\nstories of the athletes shaping the future of the sport to a
\nnational television audience, significantly increasing fighter
\nvisibility.<\/p>\n

Vice exec Josh Oakley was equally charged about this news, briefly
\nadding, \u201cWe are excited to work and partner with the LFA and give
\nMMA fans a new home to watch the next generation of elite fighters
\ncompete live.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the Jan. 16 show, the LFA currently has events on
\nJan. 23, Feb. 6 and Feb. 27 on the books in Brasilia, Brazil;
\nClarksville, Tennessee; and Ventura, California, respectively. It
\nis currently unclear if any events with the Professional Fighters League<\/a> will collide with
\nthe new LFA offerings. In November, the PFL
\ndeclared<\/a> that it would air eight of its PFL MENA and PFL Africa
\nevents in 2026 on Vice TV\u2014it also stated that the two 2025 events
\nwould run live on the Vice TV airwaves, but they were both
\ntape-delayed to run primetime stateside.<\/p>\n

The New LFA Audience Reach is Poised to Quintuple<\/h2>\n

Following this announcement, Sherdog reached out to Soares, who
\nadded to what he had written in the press release.<\/p>\n

“We’ve actually been producing this event since before UFC Fight
\nPass existed,” Soares noted. “Actually, we would have loved to
\ncontinue the partnership, but what happened is that under the new
\ncontract, they wanted to own all the content we produce, so there
\nwas no agreement. After all, we are a media company. But I
\nperfectly understood the demand; in their place, I would do the
\nsame thing. But what matters is that in the end, nothing will
\nchange for the fans and the fighters. Our relationship with the UFC
\ncontinues to be better than ever. We will hold our events and
\nprovide fighters for them.”<\/p>\n

The LFA chief continued, saying, “Before, we held the event and UFC
\nFight Pass distributed it through their platform via partners
\nworldwide; now, we are negotiating this distribution in over 200
\nmarkets. In the U.S., for example, we closed a deal with Vice TV, a
\ncable channel that will bring LFA to 45 million homes in the U.S.
\nBesides that, we are still negotiating a digital streaming
\npartnership. In the end, counting TV and streaming, we will have at
\nleast a five times larger audience in the U.S. Where haven’t yet
\nnegotiated partners, such as in Brazil, the events will be
\navailable on our YouTube channel.”<\/p>\n

Getting a chance to highlight an upcoming event, Soares was beyond
\nthrilled the LFA was heading back to Brazil. LFA 225 on Jan. 23
\nwill be capped off by an interim flyweight championship bout
\npitting Marco
\nDegli<\/a> against Luis
\nAguiar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The Brasilia event also features [multiple-time] jiu-jitsu
\nchampion Bia
\nBasilio<\/a> making her MMA debut. These [LFA 224 and 225] are two
\nexcellent cards to open the year,” he remarked. “Fans and fighters
\ncan rest assured that nothing has changed; LFA will continue
\nstronger than ever in 2026.”<\/p>\n

\nwith @VICETV<\/a> for
\nthe exclusive linear broadcast rights for 2026 season with 25 live
