\nFighters League<\/a> CEO Peter Murray is no longer part of the
\norganization.<\/p>\n

Per a release on Thursday, the promotion announced that Murray, one
\nof the founding CEOs when World Series of Fighting<\/a> rebranded to PFL, has
\nleft the company. Murray initially joined in 2018 as a former
\nexecutive of William Morris Endeavor, where he oversaw a litany of
\nchanges to the fight league including establishing a tournament
\nsystem. He also oversaw the absorption of Bellator MMA<\/a> after its purchase, which resulted in
\nmany Bellator staffers being brought over to help run PFL.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, the PFL restructured its top leadership roles,
\nshifting then-head Murray to its international branch. Replacing
\nhim was John Martin, who previously served as Chief Financial
\nOfficer for Time Warner as well as the chairman of Turner. Murray
\nwas placed in charge of developing the other leagues under the PFL
\numbrella, including PFL Europe, PFL MENA, PFL Africa and the
\npotential PFL Australia spinoff. The release did not state that
\nMurray was leaving effective immediately, but rather that he was
\n\u201cdeparting the organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors of PFL\u2019s Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated<\/h2>\n

The announcement post<\/a> from PFL read as follows: \u201dThe Professional Fighters League today announced that Peter
\nMurray, CEO of PFL international leagues, will be departing the
\norganization. As founding CEO of PFL, Peter played an integral role
\nover the last eight years in the league\u2019s growth and evolution,
\nhelping to strength the organization\u2019s business operations, expand
\nits global footprint, and establish PFL as a force in the sport of
\nMMA. His leadership and commitment were instrumental during a
\nperiod of significant development for the company.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

The release concluded by writing, \u201cPeter\u2019s impact will remain part
\nof the sport and PFL\u2019s foundation as the organization continues to
\nbuild toward the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

PFL Chairman Donn Davis also included a brief statement regarding
\nMurray.<\/p>\n

\u201cPFL would not be here today without Pete Murray\u2019s relentless
\nentrepreneurship and selfless leadership,\u201d Davis wrote. \u201cHe has
\nbeen my trusted and valued partner building the company and I look
\nforward to his continued support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the PFL release, Uncrowned<\/a> reported that in addition to Murray\u2019s
\ndeparture, other members of the team were also leaving. \u201c\u2026I\u2019m told
\nthat the company very recently laid off several long-time
\nemployees,\u201d Ariel Helwani stated.<\/p>\n
