\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> chief Dana White is not so
\ncertain that Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a> will ever fight again.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Complex News<\/a>, the UFC President and CEO
\ndiscussed a myriad of topics ranging from the oft-discussed UFC
\nWhite House card to the state of a few divisions\u2014and even briefly
\nshrugged off a question about YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul<\/a>.
\nWhite did not have many definitive answers, mostly suggesting that
\nupcoming events need to play out to determine who faces whom, when
\nand where.<\/p>\n

Of note was a pair of questions about superstar McGregor, who has
\nbeen on the shelf since breaking his leg in his unsuccessful rubber
\nmatch with Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> in 2021. The Irishman, who has since gotten married and
\nalso been the subject of many legal quagmires ranging from being
\nfound liable for sexual assault to ongoing investigations about
\nstriking various individuals, was once booked for a 2024 match with
\nMichael
\nChandler<\/a> that fell through. The two served as coaches on the
\n31st season of \u201cThe Ultimate Fighter,\u201d and a foot injury for
\nMcGregor knocked him out of that pairing.<\/p>\n

While Chandler has since gone on to fight twice more since that
\ncanceled bout, he has always sought the McGregor match, regularly
\ncalling out \u201cNotorious\u201d and even suggesting at the beginning of the
\nyear that the fight was going to happen. White disagreed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, that was a couple years ago,\u201d White answered dismissively
\nabout the prospective McGregor-Chandler clash. He reiterated that
\ndespite McGregor\u2019s pleas to be part of that event against \u201cIron
\nMike,\u201d there is no plan for them to collide.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll See How It Plays Out<\/h2>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see if Conor is going to come back or not,\u201d White noted.
\n\u201cWe\u2019ve been talking about it for a while. We\u2019ll see how it plays
\nout. I don\u2019t know, though.<\/p>\n

White was clear when discussing the White House event that there
\nhave been no steps taken for matchmaking, as it is still around
\nfive months away. He pitched that the logistics have been figured
\nout, but the rest is a long way out.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing yet,\u201d White replied when asked if there was anything on
\nthe UFC White House marquee yet. \u201cSo we literally just got all the
\nlogistics done. [There\u2019s] gonna be 5,000 seats in the South Lawn.
\nFighters will walk from the Oval Office. We got all that s–t
\ndialed in. Now, Jan. 23 is Zuffa Boxing, Jan. 24 is the first UFC,
\nand then after that card we\u2019ll start working on the White House
\nfights.\u201d<\/p>\n

He mentioned that there are some reliable fighters worth placing on
\nthe card, and stressed that he needs fighters\u2014especially at the
\nchampionship level\u2014that he can count on to make it to the event and
\nnot put their bout at risk. A couple names he felt he could not
\ntrust included lightweight Arman
\nTsarukyan<\/a> and ex-two-division champ Jon Jones<\/a>. The
\nlatter has been floated as a possible adversary should 205-pound
\nbeltholder Alex
\nPereira<\/a> move up to heavyweight.<\/p>\n

White was uncertain of the weight class, but suggested there was
\ninherent risk in scheduling a Jones fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt 205,\u201d White asked in response to a question on Jones vs.
\nPereira. \u201cYeah, that would be a fight, but can I count on Jon Jones<\/a>? You
\ncan\u2019t have Jon Jones<\/a>
\ndoing something bad or pulling out of the f—ing White House
\nfight.\u201d<\/p>\n
