Come March 14, there should be a firefight in the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> cage.<\/p>\n

The organization announced<\/a> on Friday its headliner for its March 14
\nfight card that will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Atop the
\nUFC Fight Night 269<\/a> billing\u2014also known as UFC
\nVegas 114\u2014will be a 145-pound slugfest pitting Josh Emmett<\/a>
\n(19-6) against Kevin
\nVallejos<\/a> (17-1). Vallejos subsequently confirmed his
\ninvolvement in this March main attraction on his Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

California\u2019s Emmett has fallen on hard time as of late. The
\n40-year-old has dropped four of his last five, with his lone
\nvictory since 2022 a one-punch knockout of Bryce
\nMitchell<\/a>. Otherwise, Emmett has fallen short to Yair
\nRodriguez<\/a> and Youssef
\nZalal<\/a> by submission, and dropped decisions to Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> and Lerone
\nMurphy<\/a>. Before the struggles, \u201cCC0\u201d had amassed a five-fight
\nwin streak from 2019 to 2022, culminating in an interim title tilt
\nagainst the aforementioned Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

The streaking Vallejos has made the most of his opportunity since
\nlosing on the 2023 season of Dana White’s Contender Series<\/a> to future top
\ncontender Jean Silva<\/a>.
\nA pair of stoppages in the Argentinian\u2019s home country promotion of
\nSamurai Fight House led him to another crack at the Contender
\nSeries, and he passed that test with flying colors by demolishing
\nCam
\nTeague<\/a> in under half a round. A trio of UFC victories including
\nknockouts over Seung Woo
\nChoi<\/a> and most recently, a spinning back fist finish of Giga
\nChikadze<\/a>, propelled him into this main event opportunity.<\/p>\n
