\ntwo-bout losing streak for Allen, who began his promotional tenure
\nwith 10 consecutive triumphs before dropping back-to-back outings
\nagainst Max
\nHolloway<\/a> and Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a>.<\/p>\n
\ntoward title contention at 145 pounds, but progress was derailed by
\na lingering shoulder injury that took a significant amount of time
\nto heal. He admits that the layoff took its toll on him
\nmentally.<\/p>\n

\nlove my career \u2014 I want to give it that push and achieve my goals \u2014
\nso I\u2019d be a liar if I didn\u2019t admit I was pissed off in that sense,
\nand I\u2019d also be a liar if I didn\u2019t say it trickles into my personal
\nlife sometimes.<\/p>\n
\ntask; you\u2019re on the train, and you\u2019re moving. When you\u2019re on the
\nsidelines and injured, that sucks. I dealt with a little bit of
\ndepression because [in those moments], you can\u2019t control anything.
\nYou watch the division, watch the guys; even the controllables
\ndon\u2019t matter at that point. But we\u2019re all good, I\u2019m in a good
\nplace, excited to perform, and excited to remind everyone who I am
\nand what I do.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nat UFC 324 on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The
\nevent will be the
\nUFC<\/a>\u2019s first card of the Paramount era, and Allen has drawn an
\nopponent fully capable of producing fireworks in the cage. Due to
\nhis absence, Allen is well aware that he wasn\u2019t in a position to
\ncall his shot, but he believes Silva is an ideal showcase bout
\nregardless of the rankings.<\/p>\n\u2018He Brings the Heat\u2019<\/h2>\n
\nrankings \u2014 that\u2019s the classic, and there are probably some easier
\nfights up the rankings, but again, having a whole lot of time out
\nof the fights, not competing, I can\u2019t call any shots and I don\u2019t
\ndeserve nothing,\u201d Allen said. \u201cIf you took the rankings out,
\n[Silva\u2019 is a lot more dangerous than some of the guys above me, and
\nhe\u2019s a bigger draw.<\/p>\n
\ndangerous fighter, he\u2019s a very fun fighter, and he\u2019s an all-around
\ncharacter outside of competition as well, so it\u2019s gonna be a good,
\nfun fight and fight week.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSimply being able to walk to the cage on fight night is something
\nto cherish.<\/p>\n
\n\u2014 I\u2019ve always been able to work through something, always been able
\nto be in the gym and working, so the comeback is such a big
\npersonal obstacle to overcome,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
