\nup accordingly.<\/p>\n

Souza (15-6) will be facing fellow countrywoman Bruna
\nBrasil<\/a> (11-5-1) on Saturday at UFC Vegas 113, also known as
\nUFC Fight Night 266<\/a>. The two Brazilians will
\ncollide at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas as part of the preliminaries.
\nSouza, 31, spoke to Sherdog recently, where she discussed her new
\ntraining regimen away from her traditional team of the Carioca
\nAcademy.<\/p>\n

Seeking her third victory inside the organization, Souza enters the
\nmatchup at a pivotal moment in her UFC career following two
\nconsecutive losses. In preparation for the Feb. 7 fight, the
\nAmazonian athlete joined the Ribas Family team in Varginha, Minas
\nGerais. The striker by trade completed her entire training camp
\nalongside established UFC fighters like top-ranked strawweight
\nAmanda
\nRibas<\/a> and Alexia
\nThainara<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Looking for Evolution<\/h2>\n

According to Souza, the move was motivated by the pursuit of
\ntechnical and competitive development.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking for evolution, and that\u2019s when I met Diego Davila
\nand Marcelo Ribas. At Ribas Family, I found a training environment
\nthat pushed me to grow. The team has a strong group of athletes,
\nwith different body types, which raises the technical level of the
\nsessions,\u201d Souza said.<\/p>\n

After spending an extended period training in Manaus, Souza
\nrelocated to Varginha with her partner to fully integrate into the
\nteam\u2019s daily routine. She highlighted the importance of sharing
\ntraining sessions with top contender Ribas, who has bounced back
\nand forth between strawweight and flyweight for much of her time in
\nthe UFC.<\/p>\n

\u201cTraining with Amanda has been extremely valuable,\u201d Souza remarked.
\n\u201cShe\u2019s a strong and durable athlete, and the exchange we have every
\nday helps both of us improve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Souza\u2019s nickname, \u201cEsquentadinha,\u201d which translates to
\n\u201chot-headed,\u201d dates back to her early days on the Brazilian
\nregional circuit. The name was given by an event announcer
\nfollowing a backstage incident after a weigh-in, and has remained
\npart of her professional identity ever since. For Saturday\u2019s
\nmatchup, Souza celebrates a structured and comprehensive camp, with
\nan emphasis on strategic preparation for multiple fight
\nscenarios.<\/p>\n
