\nLopes<\/a> as he watched the Brazilian lose to Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> last weekend. <\/p>\n

Murphy and Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a>, even according to Volkanovski, are the most deserving
\nfeatherweight title contenders. However, Volkanovski was scheduled
\nto defend his title in a rematch against Diego Lopes<\/a>
\nat
\nUFC 325<\/a> on Saturday in Sydney, Australia. Volkanovski displayed
\nexemplary footwork in outclassing Lopes to earn a unanimous
\ndecision win. <\/p>\n

Murphy saw some improvements in Lopes since he lost to Volkanovski
\nin their first encounter last year. However, Murphy believes
\neveryone knew how the rematch would eventually play out. Murphy
\nbelieves Father Time catches up with everyone, and Volkanovski is
\nno exception. While \u201cThe Iceman\u201d means no disrespect to
\nVolkanovski, he believes he could have dethroned the champion if
\ngiven an opportunity at UFC 325.<\/p>\n

Volk Has His Number<\/h2>\n

\u201cI think everybody knew what was going to happen in that fight,\u201d
\nMurphy said on \u201cThe Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d \u201cTo be fair, Diego made
\nsome adjustments, he looked better. But Volk just got his number
\nand everybody knew that was gonna happen\u2026 It hurt watching that
\nfight thinking that I should have been there in it\u2026 I really
\nbelieve that Father Time catches up with everybody, and I think if
\nI was in there, I would have gotten the job done. That\u2019s no
\ndisrespect to Volk, great fighter, obviously on top for a reason.
\nBut I have just seen a lot of things in there that I would have
\nbeen doing.\u201d <\/p>\n

While Evloev (19-0) has long been on the cusp of title contention,
\nMurphy (17-0) made a legitimate claim for a title shot with a
\nhighlight reel knockout win over a highly-touted Aaron Pico<\/a>
\nin August last year. Murphy and Evloev are now scheduled to
\nfight in a potential title eliminator in the main event at
\nUFC London<\/a> on March 21. <\/p>\n
