\nhas any relevance in the immediate featherweight title
\npicture. <\/p>\n

Volkanovski (28-4) made the first defense of his second title run
\nin a rematch against Diego Lopes<\/a>
\nat
\nUFC 325<\/a> last weekend in Sydney, Australia. The 37-year-old
\nshowed why he is the champion by beating Lopes via a one-sided
\nunanimous decision. <\/p>\n

Silva subsequently called for a title shot against Volkanovski.
\n\u201cLord\u201d also warned that he would train with Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>, the last man to beat Volkanovski. Volkanovski believes
\nSilva is not yet in a position to call for a title shot. The
\nAustralian speculates that Silva might be taking shots at him to
\ngain some clout. Volkanovski has met Silva in the past and
\nallegedly got along very well. Volkanovski wonders if Silva is
\nseriously upset about him training with Mauricio
\nRuffy<\/a> ahead of UFC 325. Regardless, Volkanovski believes Silva
\nhas little relevance with undefeated contenders Lerone
\nMurphy<\/a> and Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> set to headline
\nUFC London<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got Silva, obviously, just probably trying to get his name
\nout there,\u201d Volkanovski said. \u201cHe\u2019s actually not a bad guy. We met
\nin Miami, and we got along pretty good, for he is a pretty nice
\nguy. But now he\u2019s saying a couple of things. I don\u2019t know if he is
\nupset with the Ruffy thing\u2026 If the
\nUFC<\/a> will push that for me, everyone knows me, I\u2019ll fight
\nanyone. But I don\u2019t think that\u2019s very likely to happen. I don\u2019t
\nthink he\u2019d be in a position to fight for the title, especially when
\nyou\u2019ve got Lerone
\nMurphy<\/a> and Movsar fighting very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Silva (17-3) was seemingly upset with his friend Ruffy for training
\nwith Volkanovski in Australia ahead of UFC 325. Silva allegedly
\nunfollowed Ruffy, who went on to beat Rafael
\nFiziev<\/a> via knockout.  After starting his UFC journey with
\nfive straight finishes, Silva suffered his only UFC loss against
\nLopes last year. \u201cLord\u201d has since rebounded with a decision win
\nover Arnold
\nAllen<\/a> at UFC 324<\/a>
\nlast month. <\/p>\n
