Rakhmonov hasn\u2019t fought since a unanimous decision win over Garry
\nin December 2024. The matchup was billed as a title eliminator with
\nthe winner expected to fight then-champion Belal
\nMuhammad<\/a>. However, Rakhmonov was sidelined due to a knee
\ninjury. The welterweight title has changed hands twice since while
\nRakhmonov is yet to recover. <\/p>\n

Rakhmonov was recently revealed wearing a knee brace and carrying
\ncrutches. Rakhmonov\u2019s manager subsequently revealed that \u201cNomad\u201d
\nrecently underwent surgery again after re-injuring his knee. The
\nundefeated Kazakh is expected to take another 10 months to recover.
\nRakhmonov has also been dropped from the official
\nUFC<\/a> welterweight rankings, with Garry taking his No. 2
\nspot. <\/p>\n

Lasting Effects?<\/h2>\n

Garry recently took credit for sidelining Rakhmonov at the prime of
\nhis career. Garry re-shared a slow motion video of him bending
\nRakhmonov\u2019s knee with an oblique kick during their fight. The
\ncaption read: \u201cIan destroyed Shavkat\u2019s career.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garry also wrote in a tweet: \u201cHe was eliminated at our title
\neliminator.\u201d<\/p>\n
