\nwere caught in a weird position in the final seconds of their
\nrematch. <\/p>\n

Volkanovski put his featherweight title on the line in a rematch
\nagainst Lopes at UFC 325 last weekend in Sydney, Australia.
\nVolkanovski showed superior technique to stifle Lopes\u2019 offense and
\nearn a unanimous decision. Volkanovski and Lopes were caught in a
\nbizarre north-south position against the fence just before the
\nfinal bell. <\/p>\n

Volkanovski kept swinging while sitting on Lopes with his back
\ntowards the Brazilian\u2019s face. \u201cThe Great\u201d revealed that he didn\u2019t
\nrealize that he was precisely sitting on Lopes\u2019 face. Volkanovski
\nlight heardtedly apoligized to Lopes for the position.<\/p>\n

\u2018Why Can\u2019t I Hit His Head\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t realize my ass was actually on his face,\u201d Volkanovski
\nsaid on YouTube. \u201cI thought that I was sitting on his chest. That\u2019s
\nwhy I was trying to swing back these punches, thinking his head\u2019s
\nthere. And I\u2019m like, \u2018Why can\u2019t I hit his head?\u2019 That was because I
\nwas literally sitting on his face. So I apologize for all that,
\nLopes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Volkanovski (28-4) won the vacant featherweight title in his first
\nencounter with Lopes (27-7) last year. Lopes rebounded with a
\nstoppage win over Jean Silva<\/a>
\nto earn a rematch against Volkanovski. Many believe Lopes fared
\nbetter in his initial fight against Volkanovski than in the
\nrematch. <\/p>\n
