Vinicius
\nOliveira<\/a> took a step up in competition on Saturday, and things
\ndidn\u2019t go as planned for the Brazilian prospect.<\/p>\n

Oliveira was outclassed in the
\nUFC Vegas 113<\/a> main event, as he fell to Mario
\nBautista<\/a> via second-round submission at the UFC Apex in Las
\nVegas. That snapped a four-bout promotional winning streak for
\n\u201cLokDog,\u201d who had an opportunity to enter the upper echelon of the
\nbantamweight division with a victory over the battle-tested
\nBautista.<\/p>\n

In the aftermath of his first
\nUFC<\/a>, defeat Oliveira revealed that he suffered multiple
\ninjuries leading up to the fight.<\/p>\n

“Well, earthlings, things went wrong again,” Oliveira wrote on
\nInstagram. “I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve lost in my life,
\nbut every time I’ve gotten up and moved on. I’m sad for my team and
\nfor everyone who was cheering for me, but anyway, no sad stories,
\nlet’s move on to another journey. I did the impossible, I dropped
\nbelow 84kg again, I had three injuries during this fight camp: a
\nrotator cuff injury, a meniscus injury, and also a fracture in my
\narm, but I’m still the best, the terror has a name! Yeeeeeeah!\u201d<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with Ag.Fight<\/a>, Oliveira went into more detail regarding the
\nfracture in his arm, which apparently hindered his performance in
\nthe Octagon on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could have canceled the fight,\u201d Oliveira said (translation via
\nMMAFighting.com<\/a>). \u201cI broke my arm. There wasn\u2019t
\nmuch I could do, but I decided to move forward. For a good while we
\ntrained with my arm in a cast. It was actually a bit reckless on
\nour part. We kept it under wraps, but I was determined to fight
\nregardless of the injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Limited on Fight Night<\/h2>\n

Bautista grounded Oliveira in the first round, and if it seemed
\nlike the Brazilian didn\u2019t make much effort to return to his feet \u2014
\nthere was a reason for that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got taken down and couldn\u2019t do the shield to get back up because
\nthat was exactly where it hurt,\u201d he added. \u201cI tried, but it hurt
\ntoo much. I said in between round that it was hurting. We went on
\nthrough the pain, but it was really bad. I started throwing jabs,
\nbut even just the movement of punching air hurt a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oliveira revealed that he received a 180-day medical suspension
\nfrom the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He added that he
\nstruggled with his weight cut due to the injury issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the worst weight cut of my career because I couldn\u2019t train
\nproperly, and that made it harder to lose the weight,\u201d Oliveira
\nsaid. \u201cI had to train moderately. I couldn\u2019t do cardio because any
\nmovement of my arm hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
