Alfie
\nDavis<\/a> shared a lighthearted moment with Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> after his loss to Usman Nurmagoedov at
\nPFL Road to Dubai<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Davis challenged Nurmagomedov for the
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> lightweight title on Saturday at
\nthe Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Nurmagomedov choked out Davis with a
\nreverse arm-triangle late in the third round to successfully defend
\nhis title. <\/p>\n

Davis revealed that he thought he could just survive the round when
\nhe heard his corner say that there were only 30 seconds left.
\nHowever, the next thing the Englishman knew was that he was
\nregaining consciousness. When Davis came to his senses, he saw
\nUsman\u2019s cousin and coach, Khabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a>, in his face. Davis says that the entire team was
\nvery respectful toward him after the fight. Davis also revealed
\nthat Makhachev couldn\u2019t resist one of his signature humorous
\none-liners. Makhachev reminded Davis that he is now 1-1 against
\ntheir team after \u201cThe Axe Man\u201d beat their teammate Gadzhi Rabdanov
\nin a huge upset last August.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard my corner say, \u201830 seconds left,\u2019\u201d Davis recalled. \u201cAnd I
\nwas like, \u2018Oh, just chill there, he\u2019s not really gonna get this.\u2019
\nAnd the next thing, I am waking up. He had a monster squeeze on
\nhim\u2026 I woke up with Khabib in my face. It\u2019s weird, if you\u2019ve ever
\nbeen choked out, it\u2019s a weird buzzy feeling\u2026 [Usman] was very
\nrespectful; they were all very respectful. I think Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> gave the best comment; he laughed at me and said,
\n\u2018Hey brother, now it\u2019s 1-1.\u2019 It was very funny.\u201d <\/p>\n

Davis (20-6) handed Rabdanov his first PFL defeat to win the 2025
\nlightweight tournament. Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov (21-0) recorded his
\nsecond title defense while avenging his teammate\u2019s loss against
\nDavis. <\/p>\n
