Frye thinks Nurmagomedov was never<br \/>\ninclined to return as he never faced adversity in his career.<br \/>\nNurmagomedov was the torchbearer of a style of wrestling that<br \/>\noriginated in Dagestan, Chechnya and other areas of the Caucasus<br \/>\nmountains. Champions like <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Islam-Makhachev-76836\">Islam<br \/>\nMakhachev<\/a>, <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Khamzat-Chimaev-280021\">Khamzat<br \/>\nChimaev<\/a> and other elite grapplers are taking over the sport<br \/>\nwith the same kind of grappling that is often criticized for not<br \/>\nbeing entertaining. However, Frye believes that, fan-friendly or<br \/>\nnot, the Dagestani\/Chechen style of wrestling is superior to every<br \/>\nother style in the sport today.<\/p>\n<h2>Bulletproof<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI think Khabib was everybody\u2019s match,\u201d Frye said in a recent<br \/>\ninterview. \u201cNobody can beat that guy. He\u2019s bulletproof,<br \/>\n10-foot-tall, bulletproof. [His wrestling] is phenomenal, nothing<br \/>\nyou can take away from it. He hit his goal and he\u2019s staying there,<br \/>\nhe\u2019s maintaining it. If he was to advance it a little, then he\u2019d<br \/>\ncome back. He has no desire to come back and you can\u2019t blame him<br \/>\nbecause nobody ever challenged him\u2026 Whether you enjoy watching [the<br \/>\nDagestani style] or not, too bad. It\u2019s superior to every other<br \/>\nstyle out there.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nurmagomedov (29-0) retired as the undefeated UFC lightweight<br \/>\nchampion in 2020 after defending his title thrice.
