\nDvalishvili<\/a> after the champion\u2019s recent back surgery<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Yan recently underwent a lumbar spine surgery and is expected to
\nreturn this summer. While Yan said that it was a \u201cminor\u201d surgery,
\nhe needed nine hours of anaesthesia. Yan is expected to put his
\ntitle on the line in a rematch against Dvalishvili upon his return.
\nHowever, O\u2019Malley advises Yan not to return soon from the surgery
\nagainst Dvalishvili. O\u2019Malley believes Yan could be compromised
\nagainst Dvalishvili, who is known for relentless grappling.
\nO\u2019Malley wants Yan to fight him instead, as \u201cSuga\u201d is not exactly
\nknown for his wrestling.<\/p>\n

‘I Suck at Wrestling’<\/h2>\n

\nnext,\u201d O\u2019Malley said on YouTube. \u201cI hate the idea of him coming off
\nback surgery and fighting Merab\u2026 You\u2019re gonna f\u2014-ing fight Merab
\nwithin a year after back surgery? It sounds like a f\u2014-ing terrible
\nmistake\u2026 I\u2019m not gonna go out there and try to shoot and wrestle
\nhim. Why would you fight Merab after back surgery when you can
\nfight me? I suck at wrestling. I can\u2019t grapple, I\u2019m 1-2 in my last
\nthree.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yan (20-5) outclassed Dvalishvili (21-5) in every aspect to win the
\ntitle at
\nUFC 323<\/a> last year. Dvalishvili won the title against O\u2019Malley
\nin 2024 and defended it thrice last year before losing to Yan.
\nMeanwhile, O\u2019Malley (19-3) rebounded from back-to-back title losses
\nagainst Dvalishvili with a win over Yadong Song<\/a>
\nat UFC 324<\/a>
