\ndrug testing failures don\u2019t take away his GOAT status. <\/p>\n

Jones (28-1) is widely considered the greatest fighter of all time
\nby virtue of his light heavyweight title run, which saw the most
\ntitle defenses in
\nUFC<\/a> history. However, Jones\u2019 legacy is marred by multiple
\nperformance enhancing drug violations, threatening his GOAT status.
\nKhabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a>\u2019s coach, Javier Mendez, recently said he picks
\nKhabib over Jones as the GOAT, as \u201cBones\u201d was caught
\ncheating. <\/p>\n

However, Sonnen believes the PED violations shouldn\u2019t deprive Jones
\nof GOAT status. According to Sonnen, Jones probably used PEDs like
\nmost others, but was caught for it. While Jones might not be the
\ncleanest fighter, he is still the GOAT for his former foe,
\nSonnen.<\/p>\n

Not the Cleanest<\/h2>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know that Jon ever took anything that the rest of them
\ndidn\u2019t take, but he got caught for it,\u201d Sonnen said on his YouTube
\nchannel. \u201cI\u2019m going to have to go with no\u2026 Jon Jones<\/a>
\nfailing a PED test makes him not the cleanest fighter of all time.
\nIt does not disqualify him from being the greatest fighter of all
\ntime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sonnen suffered a first-round stoppage loss in a failed title bid
\nagainst Jones in 2013. Jones went on to defend the title a record
\nnumber of times before stepping away from competition in 2020.
\nJones returned after a three-year hiatus and won the heavyweight
\ntitle against Ciryl Gane<\/a>.
\n\u201cBones\u201d defended the title against Stipe
\nMiocic<\/a> and kept the division hanging for over a year before
\nannouncing his retirement last year. While Jones was rallying to
\nreturn again at the White House, his plans have seemingly been
\njeopardized after news of his arthritic hip was leaked. <\/p>\n
