\nFinney<\/a> is up and walking again under his own power.<\/p>\n

During his
\nUFC 325<\/a> encounter against Jacob
\nMalkoun<\/a>, Finney sustained multiple major leg injuries early
\ninto the match. The Tennessean went on to drop a decision after
\nthree lackluster rounds. Per the fighter on social
\nmedia<\/a> this Thursday, his leg was torn to shreds mere seconds
\ninto the matchup. As a result, the UFC medical staff and Finney\u2019s
\nteam determined that he needed to be rushed to surgery the day
\nafter his bout.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank God he\u2019s built me to overcome every obstacle I\u2019ve faced and
\nthat will be the story once again,\u201d Finney wrote. \u201cI tore my ACL
\nand my both of my meniscus within my knee. Got me into surgery the
\nnext day. [Doctor] said it\u2019s insane I was able to fight tearing
\nthat 15 seconds into the fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finney Far from Finished<\/h2>\n

On his Instagram<\/a>
\npage, \u201cThe Punisher\u201d added additional comment of his performance,
\nwhile ending it on a positive note.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will say I was in some uncharted waters not being able to do
\nwhat I can skillset wise based on injury not opponent. Can\u2019t wait
\nto showcase all the things I have gotten so much better at within
\nmy skillset to the world but now we focus on recovery and growth,\u201d
\nhe finished, along with hashtags reading \u201cTheJourneyContinues\u201d and
\n\u201cRoadtoRecovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finney also showed video early on in the match where one could see
\nhim take a funny step and hop in the air to favor his damaged limb.
\nThis, per the fighter, stifled him from imposing his game, as the
\nTennessee native was outstruck over
\n4-to-1<\/a> by Malkoun and his sole takedown attempt was stuffed.
\nThis spelled the first defeat for the stocky middleweight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Punisher\u201d started his career locally in the southern states of
\nthe U.S., competing for organizations like National Fighting
\nChampionship in Georgia and Aries Fight Series in his home state.
\nHe also dabbled in the now-defunct Ikon Fighting Championship
\nleague purchased by Jorge
\nMasvidal<\/a>, winning in both outings. It took Finney three
