Joaquin
\nBuckley<\/a> is frustrated with the lack of activity in the
\nwelterweight division. <\/p>\n

While the welterweight division is teeming with contenders, Buckley
\ncan\u2019t find a fight. \u201cNew Mansa\u201d recently went off on champion
\nIslam
\nMakhachev<\/a> and top contenders like Michael
\nMorales<\/a>, Carlos
\nPrates<\/a>, Ian Garry<\/a> and
\nothers. Buckley called out former champ Jack
\nDella Maddalena<\/a>, who he thinks is still recovering from his
\ntitle loss against Makhachev last year. Buckley is coming off a
\nloss against Kamaru
\nUsman<\/a> in June 2025. Buckley believes a matchup against
\nMaddalena will be a fresh change for both of them, as they were
\nboth held down by wrestlers in their last losses.<\/p>\n

A Call for Action<\/h2>\n

  \u201cIf I can get anybody active, I\u2019d say JDM,\u201d Buckley said on
\nInstagram. \u201cMe and JDM would be good money. It ain\u2019t because of
\nwhere he is placed on the rankings, No.1. But I think me and JDM,
\nstylistically we\u2019re just meant, fireworks. And I\u2019m sure because of
\nwhat we both went through, getting held down\u2026 I think we\u2019d be good
\nwork and we would be satisfied with the work we put on\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now the division is on standstill\u2026 Right now they got the
\nhottest division and ain\u2019t nobody fighting. You got Islam out there
\nplaying Wrestleball. You got Prates out there partying and
\nclubbing. You got Morales out there twerking and twirling. You got
\nJDM still at the house crying, you got Leon missing again, you got
\nBelal trying to send war meals, you got Ian Garry<\/a>
\nwatching in the corner\u2026 What\u2019s going on with the welterweight
\ndivision? We gotta get things active, come on now. \u201c<\/p>\n

Maddalena (18-3) was unbeaten in 18 straight outings before his
\ntitle loss against Makhachev. Meanwhile, Buckley (21-7) was riding
\na six-fight winning streak before his loss to Usman. <\/p>\n
