\nNurmagomedov<\/a> says the shoes of their late coach, Abdulmanap
\nNurmagomedov, have been filled nicely by his son, Khabib
\nNurmagomedov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nwere initially trained by Abdulmanap in the mountains of
\nDagestan.<\/p>\n

Abdulmanap later brought the team to the U.S. to train at
\nAmerican Kickboxing Academy<\/a> under Javier Mendez. Khabib retired
\nas undefeated
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> lightweight champion after the
\ndeath of his father in 2020. \u201cThe Eagle\u201d has since taken up the
\nresponsibility of guiding the team alongside Mendez.<\/p>\n

Usman believes Khabib has fit into Abdulmanap\u2019s role extremely
\nwell. The
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> lightweight champion says his
\ncousin Khabib knows exactly how much a fighter must be pushed in
\ntraining. With the team being filled with champions from every
\nmajor MMA promotion, one would expect that they would train
\nadequately by themselves anyway. However, Usman knows from
\nexperience that everyone can push their limits a bit more when
\nKhabib is around in training.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would compare Khabib’s role with our late Uncle Abdulmanap,\u201d
\nUsman told Red Corner MMA. \u201cHe always takes center stage, he gives
\nassignments, he knows what a fighter should go through, and he
\nknows how much a man should work out. Because when we train on our
\nown -I know it from my own experience here and there – you may
\nthink you have done enough work, but when Khabib is next to you,
\nwith all his experience, he pushes us a bit more, he pushes us to
\nyour very limits.\u201d<\/p>\n
