Nassourdine
\nImavov<\/a> hasn\u2019t been guaranteed a title shot against Khamzat
\nChimaev<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Imavov recently revealed that the
\nUFC<\/a> brass originally wanted to match him against Chimaev in
\nDecember 2025. The potential timeline was later postponed to this
\npast February, but Chimaev was injured. Imavov says that although
\nmatchmaker Mick Maynard recently reiterated his interest in the
\nmatchup, nothing has been confirmed yet.<\/p>\n

Multiple Delays<\/h2>\n

\u201cNo final news yet, no contract signed,\u201d Imavov told MMAFighting.com<\/a>. \u201cOne of the last discussions I
\nhad with Hunter
\nCampbell<\/a> and Mick Maynard in Qatar \u2013 They told me that they
\nwanted to schedule the fight against Khamzat for December, then for
\nFebruary. But Khamzat got injured. We spoke recently with Mick
\nMaynard, and they want to see the fight happen, but we don\u2019t have
\nfinal approval.\u201d<\/p>\n

Imavov (17-4) is widely considered the most deserving middleweight
\ntitle contender with wins over Roman
\nDolidze<\/a>, Jared
\nCannonier<\/a>, Brendan
\nAllen<\/a>, Israel
\nAdesanya<\/a> and Caio
\nBorralho<\/a> in his last five outings. However, former champ
\nSean
\nStrickland<\/a> re-entered the title picture by knocking out
\nAnthony
\nHernandez<\/a> at
\nUFC Houston<\/a> last weekend. Imavov has since been calling for a
\nchance to avenge his previous loss against Strickland, dating back
\nto 2023. Meanwhile, Strickland is eyeing a title shot against
\nChimaev, who doesn\u2019t seem opposed to the idea. <\/p>\n
