\nUFC<\/a> broadcast deal with Paramount was announced, Michael
\nPage<\/a> took a wait-and-see approach rather than immediately
\ncelebrating the news.<\/p>\n
\nwhich is owned the same parent company as the UFC, made headlines
\nin the combat sports world by signing Conor Benn to a one-fight
\ndeal worth a reported $15 million. While salary figures are rarely
\nreleased these days, there are few, if any, athletes under the UFC
\nbanner who make that much for a single fight. Even with the new
\nseven-year, $7.7 billion broadcast rights deal in place, thus far
\nit doesn\u2019t appear that UFC purses have increased significantly.<\/p>\n
\nwould say is when the announcement of the Paramount, big-money
\npartnership [with the UFC] came, people were asking me, ‘Are you
\nexcited about this?’ And my answer was, ‘Well, what does that mean
\nfor the fighters? Until we understand how that’s going to translate
