Strickland scored a massive upset win over Anthony
\nHernandez<\/a> via a third-round knockout at
\nUFC Houston<\/a> last weekend. Imavov has since been calling for a
\nchance to avenge his previous loss against Strickland. <\/p>\n

Strickland replaced an injured Kelvin
\nGastelum<\/a> against Imavov in 2023. The fight took place at light
\nheavyweight as Strickland came in on five days\u2019 notice. Strickland
\ndefeated Imavov via an emphatic unanimous decision. <\/p>\n

However, Imavov claims the fight would have played out differently
\nunder \u201cnormal conditions.\u201d While Imavov is calling for a rematch
\nagainst Strickland, the former champ is eyeing a title shot against
\nKhamzat
\nChimaev<\/a>. Imavov accuses Strickland of ducking him. \u201cThe Sniper\u201d
\nbelieves Strickland is scared of a brutal beatdown against him, but
\ndoesn\u2019t mind being choked out by Chimaev.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019ll End Up Unconscious\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cOf course he’s ducking,\u201d Imavov told Championship Rounds.\u201dHe\u2019s
\nready to get choked [by Khamzat], that’s not painful… He’s not
\nready to get destroyed and end up with a bloodied face. I’ve been
\nasking for him to the UFC for two years now, even after KO-ing
\nAdesanya. Everything will be different [in the rematch]. In the
\nright weight class, with a proper camp for facing him, he’ll end up
\nunconscious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Strickland (30-7) is now 2-2 in his last four, with the losses
\ncoming in two title fights against Dricus Du
\nPlessis<\/a>. Meanwhile, Imavov (17-4) is riding a five-fight
\nwinning streak against elite competition. <\/p>\n
