A 21-year-old prospect with a 7-0 record will make her Octagon
\ndebut on less than a week\u2019s notice at
\nUFC Mexico City.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed on Wednesday that Regina
\nTarin will replace the injured Sofia Montenegro and face Ernesta
\nKareckaite in a 130-pound catchweight bout this Saturday. UFC
\nMexico City \u2014 also known as UFC Fight Night 268 \u2014 takes place at
\nArena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico and is headlined by a 125-pound
\nscrap pitting Brandon Moreno against Lone\u2019er Kavanagh. The card
\nairs in its entirety on Paramount+, beginning with prelims at 5
\np.m. ET\/2 p.m. PT before moving on to the main draw at 8 p.m. ET\/5
\np.m. PT.<\/p>\n

A Dual Threat<\/h2>\n

Tarin, who is nicknamed \u201cKill Bill,\u201d has made her name on the
\nregional circuit in Mexico, winning the Budo Sento bantamweight
\ncrown in 2024 and also securing a trio of victories under the
\nCombate
\nGlobal<\/a> banner. The Mexico City native has finished all but one
\nof her triumphs inside the distance. Tarin also reportedly tried out<\/a> for World Wrestling Entertainment
\nearlier this year.<\/p>\n

Lithuania\u2019s Kareckaite is 1-1 in the Octagon since earning a UFC
\ncontract on
\nDana White’s Contender Series<\/a> in 2023. Most recently, the
\n27-year-old known as \u201cHeavy Hands\u201d garnered a split verdict over
\nNicolle Caliari at UFC Fight Night 249 in January 2025.<\/p>\n
