Carlos
\nPrates<\/a> doesn\u2019t think he is the ideal return fight for Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a>. <\/p>\n

McGregor has been teasing a return to competition once again, this
\ntime at the White House in June. Prates\u2019 name has somehow been
\nbrought up in rumors as a welcome back matchup for
\nMcGregor. <\/p>\n

Prates clarified that he has yet to hear anything from the
\nUFC<\/a> about a potential fight against McGregor. While Prates
\nwould be honored to fight the former UFC double champion, he doubts
\nthat the matchup will come to fruition. Prates notes that McGregor
\nhasn\u2019t fought since 2021 and is likely retired from MMA. Prates
\nbelieves McGregor wouldn\u2019t be inclined to return against a
\ndangerous welterweight like him. Prates doesn\u2019t doubt that he would
\ninflict serious damage on McGregor and believes \u201cNotorious\u201d ideally
\nshouldn\u2019t return against him.<\/p>\n

A Bad Idea for a Comeback Fight<\/h2>\n

\u201cA lot you guys have been asking me about the Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a> fight,\u201d Prates said on Instagram. \u201cAnd I didn\u2019t get
\nanything from the UFC yet\u2026 Of course it would be a huge honor for
\nme to fight against him. I really want a fight that\u2019s gonna bring
\nme a title shot \u2013 JDM, Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a>. To be honest, I think that fight is hard to happen.
\nBecause Conor
\nMcGregor<\/a> is five years without any fight, retired from MMA. And
\nafter five years, he wouldn\u2019t return to fight against the most
\ninteresting welterweight in the world. Nothing against him, but
\neverybody knows \u2014 I know, he knows \u2014 I would hurt him bad. I would
\nknock him out. So I don\u2019t think it\u2019s the right way to make a
\ncomeback for a huge superstar like him.\u201d<\/p>\n

McGregor (22-6) hasn\u2019t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy
\nloss against Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> in 2021. While the Dubliner has teased a return
\nmultiple times, it never materialized. Meanwhile, currently riding
\na two-fight winning streak, Prates (23-7) has finished all six of
\nhis UFC wins so far, while only dropping a decision against
\nIan
\nGarry<\/a>. <\/p>\n
