The two lightweights had met<br \/>\nfor the first time more than a decade ago in a featherweight<br \/>\nmatchup in 2015. Oliveira was in visible agony after an attempted<br \/>\ntakedown in the opening round. However,<br \/>\nOliveira believes most people couldn\u2019t explain his injury. The<br \/>\nBrazilian recently revealed that he lost sensation on his left side<br \/>\nfollowing the injury, leading to talks of paralysis. Oliveira<br \/>\ncouldn&#8217;t even feel the IV drip on his left arm inside the<br \/>\nambulance. The future lightweight champion admits being scared that<br \/>\nhis career was over.<\/p>\n<h2>Grave Concerns<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI lost movement on my left side,\u201d Oliveira recently told <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/ZlEM5UboxlQ?si=QZixQkAOrvy4TlCB&amp;t=109\">New York Post Sports<\/a>. \u201cI think a lot of people<br \/>\ndidn\u2019t know how to explain what it was, so they talked about the<br \/>\nesophagus and all of that but it was an injury to my neck. There<br \/>\nwere talks that I could&#8217;ve been paralyzed\u2026 In the ambulance, the<br \/>\nguys were trying to put an IV in my arm, and I wouldn\u2019t even feel<br \/>\nit because I couldn\u2019t feel my left side, so I was scared my career<br \/>\nwas over at that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Both Holloway and Oliveira have firmly cemented themselves as<br \/>\n<a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/organizations\/Ultimate-Fighting-Championship-2\"><br \/>\nUFC<\/a> stars over the last decade. Holloway is coming off a win<br \/>\nover <a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Dustin-Poirier-50529\">Dustin<br \/>\nPoirier<\/a> that saw him rebound from a knockout loss against<br \/>\n<a rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sherdog.com\/fighter\/Ilia-Topuria-202445\">Ilia<br \/>\nTopuria<\/a>.
