Ryan
\nGandra<\/a> introduced himself to the
\nUltimate Fighting Championship<\/a> middleweight division with the
\nkind of ferocity that warrants immediate notice.<\/p>\n

The Flavio Baiano Team product discarded fellow
\nDana White\u2019s Contender Series<\/a> graduate Jose Medina<\/a>
\nwith punches in the first round of their featured
\nUFC Fight Night 268<\/a> prelim on Saturday at CDMX Arena in Mexico
\nCity.
\nMedina (11-7, 0-4 UFC) met his end just 41 seconds into Round
\n1<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Gandra (9-1, 1-0 UFC) stepped forward behind a lead right hook, a
\nleft hand over the top and a front kick to the body. He then
\nflurried with punches, connected with a knee up the middle and
\nreset. Medina failed to circle out of danger, all but sealing his
\nfate. Gandra pinned him to the fence with punches, folded him with
\na right hand and cleaned up the crumbs with follow-up shots.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Xtreme Couture export Javier
\nReyes<\/a> overcame an inauspicious start to dispatch Douglas
\nSilva de Andrade<\/a> with punches in the first round of their
\nfeatherweight affair.
\nReyes (23-5, 1-0 UFC) brought it to a close 4:59 into Round
\n1<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his first assignment since June 15, 2024, the 40-year-old Silva
\nde Andrade (29-6, 7-7 UFC) knocked down the Colombian with an
\noverhand right during one of their initial exchanges but failed to
\nfollow up with enough fervor to force a finish. Reyes recovered and
\nlater leveled the Brazilian with a clean right hand of his own. He
\npounced with punches and elbows, secured a mat return when Silva de
\nAndrade managed to stand and escalated his assault from there.
\nReyes advanced to the back, flattened out the Corinthians
\nMMA-trained vet and slammed the door with unanswered punches.<\/p>\n

It was the eighth first-round stoppage of Reyes\u2019 career.<\/p>\n

Deeper into the prelims, American Top Team\u2019s Francis
\nMarshall<\/a> rebounded from a March 8 split decision loss to
\nMairon
\nSantos<\/a> and put away Erik Silva<\/a>
\nwith a rear-naked choke in the first round of their featherweight
\ntilt.
\nMarshall (9-3, 3-3 UFC) drew the curtain 2:29 into Round
\n1<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A former LUX Fight League champion, Silva (9-4, 0-3 UFC) greeted
\nthe Kurt
\nPellegrino<\/a> prot\u00e9g\u00e9 with a spinning wheel kick but enjoyed
\nlittle other success. Marshall secured a takedown, threatened with
\nan arm-triangle and progressed to full mount. The move set off a
\nbrief scramble during which Silva left his neck exposed. Marshall
\nthen bit down on the choke, tightened his squeeze and prompted the
\ntapout.<\/p>\n

Silva, 38, remains winless across three appearances inside the
\nOctagon.<\/p>\n

Finally, Nova Uniao prospect Damian
\nPinas<\/a> swept aside Wesley
\nSchultz<\/a> with punches in the first round of their middleweight
\nconfrontation.
\nSchultz (8-2, 0-1 UFC), who entered the cage on the strength of
\nback-to-back victories, bowed out 2:30 into Round
\n1<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pinas (9-1, 1-0 UFC) decked the Pure Vida BJJ rep with a clean
\none-two inside the first minute, floored him a second time with a
\nright uppercut and stonewalled multiple takedown attempts. He
\neventually backed Schultz to the fence and cut loose with another
\none-two that dropped the Wisconsin native where he stood. No
\nfollow-up shots were required.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old Pinas has rattled off five straight wins.<\/p>\n

In other action, Ailin Perez<\/a>
\n(13-2, 6-1 UFC) laid claim to a unanimous decision\u201429-28, 29-28,
\n29-28\u2014over Macy
\nChiasson<\/a> (10-6, 8-6 UFC) in their three-round women\u2019s
\nbantamweight scrap; Cristian
\nQuinonez<\/a> (19-5, 2-2 UFC) cruised to a unanimous decision over
\nKris
\nMoutinho<\/a> (14-8, 0-4 UFC) in their three-round bantamweight
\nencounter, as all three judges turned in 30-27 scorecards; and
\nundefeated Mexican prospect Regina
\nTarin<\/a> (8-0, 1-0 UFC) filled in as a short-notice replacement
\nfor Sofia
\nMontenegro<\/a> and took a unanimous decision\u201430-27, 30-27,
\n29-28\u2014from Ernesta
\nKareckaite<\/a> (6-2-1, 1-2 UFC) in their 130-pound catchweight
