Sterling defeated former
\nUFC<\/a> champion Benson
\nHenderson<\/a> in a wrestling match via fall at RAF 6 on Saturday.
\nThe former UFC bantamweight champion is now calling for a
\nfeatherweight title shot against Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a>. Sterling also slammed Diego
\nLopes<\/a>\u2019 performance in his title rematch against Volkanovski at
\n
\nUFC 325<\/a> this past January.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been with the company since 2014, been calling my shot,
\ndefending the belt the most in the bantamweight division,\u201d Sterling
\nsaid at the said at the RAF post-fight press conference<\/a>.

\u2018I\u2019ve Never Turned Down Anybody\u2019<\/h2>\n

Sterling is also ready to take on featherweight contenders like

\nRodriguez<\/a>, Jean Silva<\/a>
\nor Youssef
\nZalal<\/a>. \u201cFunkmaster\u201d claims he has never turned down a fight
\ndespite being offered unfavorable matchups. Sterling believes the
\nUFC brass never offers him opponents of his choice as they want to
\nsee him lose.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou want to give me Yair Rodriguez? I\u2019ll fight him,\u201d Sterling
\nsaid. \u201cYou want to give me Jean Silva? I\u2019ll fight him. You gonna
\ngive me Youssef Zalal? I\u2019ll fight him. I\u2019ve never turned down
\nanybody. These guys have asked me for opponents who I want to
\nfight, and then they give me somebody complete opposite. Because
\nthey want to see me lose. That\u2019s my perspective.\u201d <\/p>\n

Sterling (25-5) won the bantamweight title against Petr Yan<\/a> via
\ndisqualification in 2021 and defended it thrice before losing it to
\nSean O\u2019Malley in 2023. Sterling then moved up to featherweight,
\nwhere he has sandwiched a loss against Movsar
\nEvloev<\/a> between wins over Calvin
\nKattar<\/a> and Brian
\nOrtega<\/a>. The 36-year-old has often been criticiized for inaction
\nwith his wrestling-heavy style. <\/p>\n
