Merab
\nDvalishvili<\/a> is determined to fight Petr Yan<\/a> next,
\nregardless of how long it takes. <\/p>\n

Dvalishvili (21-5) put his bantamweight title on the line for the
\nfourth time in a year in a rematch against Yan (20-5) at
\nUFC 323<\/a> this past December. Yan outclassed Dvalishvili in every
\naspect to earn a huge upset win via unanimous decision. Dvalishvili
\nclaims the
\nUFC<\/a> has guaranteed him a trilogy fight against Yan. However,
\nYan underwent lumbar surgery this past January, and his return
\ntimeline currently remains uncertain. <\/p>\n

Dvalishvili defeated Yan in their first outing in 2023. Dvalishvili
\nis now 1-1 head-to-head against \u201cNo Mercy\u201d after losing his title
\nin their rematch. Dvalishvili wants to settle the trilogy against
\nYan in his next outing, no matter when the champion might return.
\n\u201cThe Machine\u201d believes the matchup is worth the wait and doesn\u2019t
\nwant to fight anyone else in the meantime.<\/p>\n

\nbecause this fight makes sense,\u201d Dvalishvili said on \u201dThe Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/a> \u201cNow we\u2019re 1-1. I
\nbeat him in 2023, and he beat me and opened me up good in 2025. I
\nhave no excuse, of course I was going through some injuries, some
\nhard training sessions. But now we both have good time to prepare,
\nand I want to challenge myself to see who\u2019s gonna win the trilogy.
\nI\u2019m sure everyone will be excited for this one. It\u2019s worth the
\nwait, and after this fight, we move on.\u201d
