Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> believes Max
\nHolloway<\/a> is on the cusp of a lightweight title shot. <\/p>\n

Holloway is scheduled to put his BMF title on the line against
\nCharles
\nOliveira<\/a> at
\nUFC 326<\/a> on March 7 in Las Vegas. Volkanovski believes Oliveira
\nhas to finish Holloway early or he\u2019ll get stopped in the later
\nrounds by \u201cBlessed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m gonna go with a finish for Max,\u201d Volkanovski said on YouTube<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s either Charles lands and gets a
\nfinish early, or he gets finished in the later rounds\u2026 I\u2019m leaning
\nmore towards a finish than a decision for Max.\u201d<\/p>\n

Volkanovski also believes Holloway, whom he has beaten thrice,
\ndeserves a lightweight title shot with a win over Oliveira.
\nVolkanovski argues that Holloway has recently beaten the interim
\nlightweight champ Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> and former perennial contender Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a>, while only losing to the champion Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a>.<\/p>\n

An Impressive Run<\/h2>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s taken out Gaethje, who is the interim champ. He\u2019s taken out
\nDustin
\nPoirier<\/a>, who\u2019s fought for the title how many times? And now
\nhe\u2019s gonna beat Charles
\nOliveira<\/a>\u2026 How\u2019s he not fighting for the title?\u201d Volkanovski
\nsaid. \u201cI believe he should have already fought for the title\u2026 100%
\nhe fights for the belt, I think that\u2019s clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

Holloway (27-8) is 4-1 since his last failed featherweight title
\nbid against Volkanovski in 2022. \u201cBlessed\u201d has sandwiched a loss
\nagainst Topuria between wins over Gaethje and Poirier in his last
\nthree outings. Meanwhile, Oliveira (36-11) has alternated between
\nwins and losses in his last six outings. \u201cDo Bronx\u201d comes off a
\nsubmission win over Mateusz
\nGamrot<\/a> that saw him rebound from a knockout loss against
\nTopuria.  <\/p>\n
