Petr
\nYan<\/a> claims a
\nUFC<\/a> staff member tried to take his original championship belt
\nand replace it with a replica. <\/p>\n

Yan defeated Merab
\nDvalishvili<\/a> in a rematch at
\nUFC 323<\/a> this past December to win the bantamweight title for
\nthe second time. \u201cNo Mercy\u201d claims a UFC employee approached him
\nafter the post-fight press conference and asked him to hand over
\nhis belt. The staff member allegedly handed Yan a replica instead,
\nsaying he already had an original belt from his first title reign.
\nHowever, Yan refused to hand over the fruits of his hard earned
\nvictory. The Russian was disappointed with the whole affair,
\nregardless of whoever was responsible for it.<\/p>\n

A New History<\/h2>\n

\u201cI got the real, original championship belt, I had it over my
\nshoulder,\u201d Yan said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/a> \u201cWe went and did the
\npress conference and as soon as I was coming off the press
\nconference stage, one of the UFC employees says, \u2018I gotta get that
\nbelt and I\u2019m gonna give you this one.\u2019 And I said, \u2018Wait, what do
\nyou mean you gotta get this? This is the belt, I want this belt.
\nWhy do you need this?\u2019 And he said, \u2018Well, you already have this
\nbelt. I need to give you this version.\u2019 And he showed be basically
\na replica of a belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I said, \u2018No. How would I get home with a replica? It doesn\u2019t
\nmatter where my other belt is, it doesn\u2019t matter when I won it, how
\nI won it.\u2019 This is a new history, this is a new chapter, this is a
\nnew belt, and I wasn\u2019t gonna be leaving without it. I feel like it
\nwasn\u2019t really nice or correct from the standpoint of the company or
\nthe standpoint of the employee of the company, to try and take my
\noriginal belt.\u201d<\/p>\n
