Pinas (9-1) took on Wesley
\nSchultz<\/a> (8-3) in a middleweight tilt to start the action at UFC
\nFight Night 268 on Saturday at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico.
\n\u201cBaba Yaga\u201d dropped his opponent with an uppercut before flatlining
\nhim with a 1-2 combo midway into the first round. <\/p>\n

Pinas had also scored a first-round knockout on the
\nDana White’s Contender Series<\/a> last year to earn his
\nUFC<\/a> contract. However, since Pinas didn\u2019t get a performance
\nbonus for the Contender Series win, the Aruban is hoping for some
\nextra cash after his impressive UFC debut. Pinas dedicated the
\nknockout to Dana White and wants to be on the UFC head honcho\u2019s
\nwatch. Pinas says he can be a company man for the UFC and the
\nfuture of the middleweight division.<\/p>\n

\u2018Everybody is Gonna Watch Me\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cI have a news for Dana White,\u201d Pinas said in a post-fight
\ninterview with the UFC. \u201cThis KO is for him. On the Contender
\n[Series] I KO\u2019d a guy, that wasn\u2019t in the UFC so I couldn\u2019t get the
\n\u2018Performance of the Night.\u2019 So this one I did it again for you,
\nDana White. I hope I get the POTN. I did it for you, this KO is for
\nyou\u2026 Now everybody is gonna watch me. Dana White is gonna watch me
\ncloser too. I\u2019m the future of the division, I came here to become
\nthe champion of the middleweight division. I can be a company man
\nfor the UFC too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pinas has gone past the first round only twice in his nine
\nprofessional wins. The 23-year-old prospect\u2019s only professional
\nloss came via disqualification due to an illegal kick in
\n2024. <\/p>\n
