\nUFC 326<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Oliveira challenged Max
\nHolloway<\/a> for the BMF title in the main event at UFC 326 on
\nSaturday in Las Vegas. While Holloway was a sizeable favoorite,
\nOliveira took the BMF champion down with ease in his very first
\nattempt. Oliveira controlled Holloway on the ground for over 20
\nminutes, constantly threatening submissions, to earn a dominant
\nunanimous decision win. While Holloway showed impressive submission
\ndefencs against a feared specialist, Oliveira was also apparently
\nwinning the striking battle.  <\/p>\n

\u2018Shockingly Bad Fight\u2019<\/h2>\n

However, McGregor wasn\u2019t impressed with the fight overall.
\n\u201cNotorious\u201d slammed Oliveira\u2019s performance while also taking a dig
\nat Daniel
\nCormier<\/a>\u2019s commentary. <\/p>\n

\u201cDC on Max on top \u2018he should stall\u2019 lol,\u201d McGregor wrote in a
\nsince-deleted tweet on X. \u201cHe should have elbowed all the open
\ntargets. Payback. \u2018Stall\u2019 lol f\u2014k off. Shockingly bad fight. I am
\nshocked. Charles is a little Charlie ahahaha very bad Charles very
\nbad. Hang your head bad. Good luck. Don\u2019t crown that
\nbelt.\u201d <\/p>\n

The exact significance of the BMF title remains unclear The title
\nwas first made for a matchup between Jorge
\nMasvidal<\/a> and Nate Diaz<\/a> in
\n2019, where Masvidal won via doctor\u2019s stoppage. The belt then
\nremained vacant for years until Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> defeated Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> to win it in 2023. There was also a slight disagreement
\nin the commentary booth regarding the fight. Daniel
\nCormier<\/a> posed the question of whether a BMF title fight
\ninherently means more of a striking bloodbath. However, Jon Anik
\ndefended Oliveira\u2019s dominant win over Holloway.  <\/p>\n
