After securing his first
\nUFC<\/a> win, Diyar
\nNurgozhay<\/a> is grateful to those who supported him during tough
\ntimes.<\/p>\n

Nurgozhay (11-2) looked to earn his first UFC win in a light
\nheavyweight matchup against Rafael
\nTobias<\/a> (14-2) at
\nUFC 326<\/a> on Saturday in Las Vegas. A sizeable underdog,
\nNurgozhay outstruck Tobias on the feet to earn a unanimous decision
\nwin. <\/p>\n

Nurgozhay entered the UFC as a highly touted, undefeated prospect
\nwith eight finishes in 10 wins. However, the Kazakh suffered a
\nsubmission loss against Brendson Rebeiro in his UFC debut last
\nyear. Nurgozhay followed it up with another submission loss against
\nUran
\nSatybaldiev<\/a> in his sophomore UFC outing. Nurgozhay revealed
\nthat a lot of his home fans from Kazakhstan counted him out after
\ntwo consecutive losses in the UFC. But Nurgozhay is grateful to his
\nclose ones who stayed with him through thick and thin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what I\u2019m proud of, but what I can say is that there
\nwere a lot of people that were with me through all of this,\u201d
\nNurgozhay said in a post-fight interview withthe UFC. \u201cBecause a
\nlot of the people, a lot of the fans from Kazakhstan, my own
\ncountry, kind of put a cross on me, washed their hands off me and
\nsaid, \u2018This is it, he\u2019s done, he\u2019s washed up, he can\u2019t do anything
\nin the UFC.\u2019 But there were people that believed in me, such as, my
\nmom, my wife, my sister, they were always with me. So, you see that
\nthe true people will be with you no matter what, through thick and
\nthrough thin.\u201d

\u201cWe figured out a way to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diyar
\nNurgozhay<\/a> stayed the course after suffering two losses to start
\nhis UFC career and was able to secure his first win in the Octagon
\nat
\n#UFC326<\/a>.<\/p>\n
