Buckley recently proposed an open-weight tournament for the BMF
\ntitle. Buckley suggests that the only requirement to compete in the
\ntournament should be to sign up for it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think they should keep [the BMF title],\u201d Buckley said on
\nInstagram. \u201cBut the only thing about the BMF title, you gotta run
\nit tournament-wise, open weight class. Any person that wants to
\nsign up for it, you can fight for it. But you can fight
\nheavyweight, you can fight flyweight, it don\u2019t matter\u2026 But you
\nreally prove that you\u2019re the baddest motherf\u2014-er.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nwas proposed by Nate Diaz<\/a>, and

\nMasvidal<\/a> defeated him to win the title for the first time in
\n2019. The title remained vacant until 2023, when Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> won it against Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a>. Holloway defended his title against Dustin
\nPoirier<\/a> before losing it to Charles
\nOliveira<\/a> at
\nUFC 326<\/a> last weekend. While Oliveira dominated Holloway on the
\nground en route to a unanimous decision victory, it raised
\nquestions about the implications of the BMF title. <\/p>\n
