Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a> says that the BMF title is not like any other
\n
\nUFC<\/a> belt. <\/p>\n

\nOliveira<\/a> (37-11) defeated Max
\nHolloway<\/a> (27-9) to win the BMF title in the main event at
\n
\nUFC 326<\/a> last weekend. Oliveira dominated Holloway on the ground
\nfor over 20 minutes en route to a unanimous decision win. While
\nOliveira threatened submissions, he didn\u2019t land any significant
\ndamage on Holloway. <\/p>\n

Despite the dominant win, Oliveira\u2019s performance received mixed
\nreactions from fans and pundits. While some defended the lopsided
\nwin, others didn\u2019t see it as befitting of the BMF title.<\/p>\n

Something Completely Different<\/h2>\n

Volkanovski understands that one must do everything to win in a
\nfight. However, the featherweight champion notes that the BMF title
\nis not like other UFC titles of the champions of different weight
\nclasses. Volkanovski notes that the title was created in the first
\nplace for fighters willing to put on a show. While Volkanovski
\nlauds Oliveira\u2019s incredible performance, he believes the title
\nmight lose its relevance and become extinct with more performances
\nlike this.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gotta do what you gotta do to win,\u201d Volkanovski said on
\nYouTube<\/a>. \u201cBut what do we even have a BMF for?
\nLet\u2019s be real, it\u2019s not the title. The title fight is the title
\nfight, and the BMF is something completely different. If we start
\nfighting like that now, don\u2019t be surprised if the BMF belt gets
\ntaken away. We might not see it. No, I\u2019m not having shots. I\u2019m just
\nsaying that it\u2019s losing its purpose. The purpose behind it is guys
\nthat are just going to go and put on fights. And they have all been
\nfights before this, this one wasn\u2019t. I\u2019m not trying to throw shade
\non Charles. What an incredible win, performance and all that,
\nincredible, awesome.\u201d <\/p>\n
