Ngannou will face Philipe
\nLins<\/a> in the co-main event of the Ronda
\nRousey<\/a>–Gina Carano<\/a>
\ncard staged by Most Valuable Promotions on May 16 at the Intuit
\nCenter in Los Angeles. During a press conference on Tuesday,
\nNgannou addressed the possibility of fighting Paul down the
\nroad.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I\u2019m not interested in fighting Jake Paul<\/a>,\u201d
\nNgannou said. \u201cI\u2019m interested in beating his ass. Not fighting
\nhim.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul, the former YouTube personality who has fashioned a career as
\nprofessional boxer, is also the MVP co-founder and was in
\nattendance at the presser. Paul didn\u2019t back down from the challenge
\nwhen given the microphone, though it appears \u201cThe Problem Child\u201d
\nwould prefer the fight take place in boxing rather than MMA.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m down. I\u2019ve always been down. You were the option before
\nAnthony
\nJoshua<\/a>, and you ran like a duck,\u201d Paul said. \u201cAnd I bet you
\ndidn\u2019t think I would last longer than you did with Anthony, either.
\nSo, you just know that you get worked in boxing. And I would love
\nto see it someday.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Matter of Respect<\/h2>\n

Both Ngannou and Paul have a common boxing opponent in Joshua.
\nAfter dropping a closely-contested split-decision loss to Tyson Fury<\/a>
\nin October 2023, Ngannou suffered a second-round knockout loss
\nagainst Joshua in March 2024.<\/p>\n

Paul squared off against Joshua this past December, falling via
\nsixth-round knockout after spending much of the bout either
\ncircling away or desperately clinching against his larger opponent.
\nPaul suffered a broken jaw that required surgery as a result of the
\ndamage he absorbed in the fight.<\/p>\n

Prior to facing Joshua, Paul had expressed interest in locking
\nhorns with Ngannou. \u201cThe Predator\u201d is far more motivated to face
\nPaul now than he was then.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were just being a small boy, not understanding, being a little
\ndisrespectful, and that\u2019s why I want to kick your ass now,\u201d Ngannou
\nsaid. \u201cI really didn\u2019t want to fight you, but now I want to beat
\nyou. There\u2019s a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
