Tom
\nAspinall<\/a> remains on the mend following eye surgery, but he\u2019ll
\nbe an interested observer when Alex
\nPereira<\/a> and Ciryl Gane<\/a>
\nsquare off for the interim heavyweight title at
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14.<\/p>\n

Aspinall made his first title defense against Gane at UFC 321<\/a>
\nthis past October, but the bout was halted in the first stanza
\nafter Gane poked the reigning champ in both eyes. It has been a
\nlengthy ordeal for Aspinall to recover from the fouls, despite
\nskepticism that he was looking for a way out of the fight. At the
\nmoment, Aspinall understands why the promotion booked Pereira and
\nGane for an interim belt.<\/p>\n

“I mean, who else is going to fight? The division’s on its ass,”
\nAspinall said on his YouTube channel. “There’s not many big fights
\nto make, is there? So they’ve got to do what they’ve got to
\ndo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waiting for Clearance<\/h2>\n

While the last update regarding Aspinall\u2019s recovery was concerning,
\nthe Brit seems to be feeling good enough to look ahead to a
\nshowdown against the winner of the UFC White House clash.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, I want to fight the winner of that,” Aspinall said. “Just waiting now to get the green light, the all clear from the
\ndoctor to start training properly again. As soon as we can start
\ntraining properly again, full contact in the gym, we will be
\ngetting a fight date booked to fight the winner. Just waiting for
\nthe clearance to be medically cleared, and then we go.<\/p>\n

“As soon as the doctor clears me, we’ll let the UFC know and we’ll
\nbe looking to book a fight soon as possible.”<\/p>\n
