\nDvalishvili<\/a> rushed into his rematch against Petr Yan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dvalishvili (21-5) defeated Yan (20-5) via a lopsided unanimous
\ndecision in their first matchup in 2023. While Dvalishvili won the
\nbantamweight title soon after, Yan hasn\u2019t lost a fight since. Yan
\nearned a chance to avenge the loss in a rematch against Dvalishvili
\nat
\nUFC 323<\/a> this past December. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili looked to
\ndefend his bantamweight title for the fourth time in a year in his
\nrematch against Yan. Dvalishvili made a two month turnaround from a
\nsuccessful title defense against Sandhagen in October. Yan put on a
\ntechnical masterclass, outclassing Dvalishvili in every aspect to
\nearn a huge upset win. <\/p>\n

Sandhagen admits he expected Dvalishvili to win the rematch against
\nYan. However, Sandhagen believes \u201cThe Machine\u201d slightly
\nunderestimated Yan in making a quick turnaround for the rematch.
\nYan is currently recovering from a back surgery and is expected to
\nface Dvalishvili in a rubber match when he returns. \u201cThe Sandman\u201d
\nbelieves Dvalishvili will be better prepared for the trilogy and
\nget his hands raised against Yan.<\/p>\n

More Respect Needed<\/h2>\n

\u201cI thought that Merab was gonna win, but Yan did a good job,\u201d
\nSandhagen told Home of Fight<\/a>. \u201cMerab took the fight way too
\nsoon in my opinion. He should have gameplanned the fight for Yan
\nfor a lot longer, giving Yan  a little bit more respect in
\nthat regard. In the next fight I am pretty sure it’s going to be
\nvery competitive, where I can see Merab winning this one.\u201d
