\nCovington<\/a> believes the UFC has become lackadaisical after the
\nParamount deal. <\/p>\n

The UFC is set to host a one-of-a-kind event on President Donald
\nTrump\u2019s birthday, June 14, at the White House lawn. The card,
\nbilled as
\nFreedom 250<\/a>, is a tribute to America\u2019s 250th year of
\nindependence. An avid supporter of Trump, Covington had been
\nrallying for a spot on the card ever since it was first mentioned
\nlast year. However, when the card was announced last weekend,
\nCovington left out. <\/p>\n

Covington can\u2019t comprehend why he isn\u2019t a part of the White House
\ncard. \u201cChaos\u201d believes the
\nUFC<\/a> has disappointed its hardcore fanbase with the White House
\nlineup. According to the former welterweight title challenger, the
\nUFC has become indifferent since landing the $7.7 billion deal with
\nParamount. Covington even makes a lofty prediction that the RAF 7
\nwrestling event on March 28 will be bigger than the White House
\ncard.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s Just Sad\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t make sense to me, it definitely doesn\u2019t make sense to
\nthe fans,\u201d Covington told Submission Radio<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re upsetting their
\nhardcore fanbase, and it’s just sad. It’s like they’re checking
\nout. It’s like they made their money with Paramount, they\u2019re like
\nwhatever, ‘We’re just gonna throw s\u2014t at the wall and we’re gonna
\ntell everybody it’s filet mignon.’ At the end of the day, RAF 7 is
\ngonna be a bigger and more prominent event than the White House
\nevent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Covington (17-5) scored his last UFC victory against Jorge
\nMasvidal<\/a> in 2022. Currently on a two-fight slump, Covington
\nhasn\u2019t fought since a stoppage loss against Joaquin
\nBuckley<\/a> in December 2024. Covington recently defeated Luke
\nRockhold<\/a> in a grappling match at RAF 5 this past January. The
\n38-year-old is now set to wrestle Dillon
\nDanis<\/a> at RAF 7 on March 28 in Tampa, Florida. <\/p>\n

Ilia
\nTopuria<\/a> will look to unify the lightweight title against
\ninterim champion Justin
\nGaethje<\/a> in the main event at the White House. Meanwhile, the
\ncard will be co-headlined by an interim heavyweight title fight
\nbetween Alex
\nPereira<\/a> and Ciryl
\nGane<\/a>. <\/p>\n
