Rodriguez opened the UFC Fight Night 269 action in a strawweight
\nrematch against Sam Hughes<\/a>
\non Saturday at the Apex in Las Vegas. \u201cLa Fiera\u201d landed the more
\ndamaging shots throughout to earn a unanimous decision win over
\nHughes. <\/p>\n

Rodriguez then called out four ranked opponents for her next
\nmatchup \u2013 Angela
\nHill<\/a>, Gillian
\nRobertson<\/a>, Lupita
\nGodinez<\/a> and Denise Gomez. Rodriguez also named Hill as her most
\npreferred matchup to avenge an old sparring session. The Venezuelan
\nrecalls sparring with Hill when she first came to the U.S. While
\nRodriguez was used to all-around respect in the gym, things
\nallegedly went south in her sparring session with Hill. According
\nto Rodriguez, she took Hill down, which triggered the
\nUFC<\/a> veteran. \u201cOverkill\u201d then returned to her feet and split
\nRodriguez\u2019s nose open with a front kick to the face. Hill allegedly
\ndidn\u2019t stop even after seeing Rodriguez bleed from her nose. Hill
\ndidn\u2019t even ask Rodriguez about her well being after they
\nstopped.<\/p>\n

Fighting for a Ranking<\/h2>\n

\u201cI hope to fight an opponent on the rankings next,\u201d Rodriguez said
\nin a post-fight interview with the UFC. \u201cI\u2019m really excited to get
\nin the rankings\u2026 I got Angela
\nHill<\/a>, Gillian
\nRobertson<\/a>, Lupita
\nGodinez<\/a>, and Denise Gomez. I\u2019ve been stepping on their toes for
\na while. So I want to get a fight with any of these four.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026 [Preferably] Angela
\nHill<\/a>. I faced her in sparring a long time ago when I first came
\nto the U.S. Where I come from, they teach me to be very respectful
\nwith people who come to our gym the first time. And I thought
\neverybody was like that because I come from that type of school.
\nAnd I went to do sparring in her gym and I was super excited, \u2018Oh,
\nI\u2019m gonna spar with a UFC fighter.\u2019 And then I started sparring
\nwith her and I took her down and she didn\u2019t like it. And as soon as
\nshe got up, she threw me a front kick to the nose and she split by
\nnose in half. I started bleeding and she kept going. And I told
\nher, \u2018Stop, stop.\u2019 My nose was bleeding and she didn\u2019t even ask me
\nlike, \u2018Are you OK?\u2019 I thought that was disrespectful.\u201d <\/p>\n

Rodriguez (12-2) has now defeated Hughes (11-7) twice and is riding
\na three-fight winning streak. Meanwhile, Hill (18-16) is on a
\ntwo-fight slump. <\/p>\n
