The
\nUFC White House<\/a> card could lose its official status over a $100
\npermit. <\/p>\n

The
\nUFC<\/a> will host a one-of-a-kind card at the White House on
\nPresident Donald Trump\u2019s birthday on June 14. The card billed as
\nFreedom Fights 250 is a tribute to America\u2019s 250th year of
\nindependence. <\/p>\n

However, the card now faces the threat of losing its official
\nstatus over a $100 permit. The UFC needs a $100 permit to sanction
\nthe event. However, the chairman of the District of Columbia Combat
\nSports Commission, Andrew Huff, claims that UFC officials have
\nrefused to obtain the permit as the event is taking place on
\n\u201cfederal land.\u201d Huff says that the fights would be unsanctioned
\nwithout the permit and wouldn\u2019t go down in the fighters\u2019 official
\nrecords. <\/p>\n

Setting a Bad Precedent<\/h2>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know anything,\u201d Huff told the Washington Post<\/a>. \u201cEvery promoter in the
\nDistrict of Columbia should be, and is, held to the same standard,
\nwhether you\u2019re putting on a small wrestling show or a major
\nevent. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m concerned about precedent. What happens when someone puts on a
\nboxing match in Malcolm X Park? They don\u2019t need to get us
\ninvolved?\u201d<\/p>\n

The commission also requires fighters, managers and promoters to
\nobtain occupational licenses to participate. Fighters are also
\nrequired to submit their medical records and undergo medical
\nexamination by a doctor assigned by the commission. While the UFC
\nhas its own medical team, Huff believes they might not be
\ncompletely unbiased. <\/p>\n
