Claressa

\nNunes<\/a> to be the MMA version of herself. <\/p>\n

Shields retained her undisputed heavyweight boxing title with a
\nvictory in a rematch against Franchon Crews Dezurn in Detroit last
\nmonth. The two-time Olympic gold medallist has since expressed
\ninterest in an exhibition boxing match against Nunes.<\/p>\n

“I would fight against Amanda Nunes in boxing. Absolutely,\u201d Shields
\ntold TMZ Sports<\/a>. \u201cThat would be a good one.”<\/p>\n

Shields and Nunes are considered the female GOATs in boxing and
\nMMA, respectively. Shields has dominated women\u2019s boxing since her
\ndebut and has gone on to win titles in three weight classes.
\nMeanwhile, Nunes is the most dominant women\u2019s MMA fighter of all
\ntime, having run through the
\nUFC<\/a> bantamweight and featherweight divisions. While Shields
\nrespects Nunes\u2019 skills, she believes she would defeat \u201cThe Lioness\u201d
\nin boxing.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u2019m That Girl\u2019<\/h2>\n

“I would win, but I think she’s very heavy-handed, she’s strong,
\nand she’s a great fighter,\u201d Shields said. \u201cShe is the UFC women’s
\nGOAT of all time, so Amanda
\nNunes<\/a> is that girl, but in boxing, I’m that girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Nunes (23-5) has never competed in boxing, Shields competed
\ntwice in MMA under the
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> banner, going 1-1. Meanwhile,
\nNunes retired from the sport after defending her featherweight
\ntitle against Irene
\nAldana<\/a> in 2023. While the Brazilian was scheduled to return
\nagainst bantamweight champion Kayla
\nHarrison<\/a> at UFC 324<\/a>,
\nHarrison was forced out with an injury. <\/p>\n
