Kevin
\nVallejos<\/a> announced himself as a person of interest in the
\nfeatherweight division on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

In his first headlining appearance, \u201cEl Chino\u201d made short work of
\nveteran Josh Emmett<\/a>,
\ndispatching his adversary with a barrage of strikes at the 3:33
\nmark of the opening stanza at
\nUFC Vegas 114<\/a> on Saturday night. Vallejos has won seven
\nstraight professional outings \u2014 including four in the
\nUFC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Vallejos declined to make a specific callout in the immediate
\naftermath of his biggest win to date, he acknowledged that matchups
\nagainst the likes of Alexander
\nVolkanovski<\/a>, Yair
\nRodriguez<\/a>, Brian
\nOrtega<\/a> or Jean Silva<\/a>
\nwould be appealing during Saturday\u2019s post-fight press
\nconference.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny of those four names are good. Obviously Volk being the
\nchampion. I think a fight against Yair or Brian would be great. I
\nthink those would be good fights,\u201d Vallejos said.<\/p>\n

Vallejos already has history with Silva. The Argentinian dropped a
\nunanimous decision to the Brazilian on
\nDana White’s Contender Series<\/a> in September 2023. Vallejos would
\nhave to win three more fights \u2014 including a return date on the
\nContender Series \u2014 before he earned a UFC deal. The rising star
\nsays he is cheering Silva\u2019s ascent in the featherweight
\ndivision.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody knows about the history with Jean Silva<\/a>,\u201d
\nVallejos said. \u201cIt would be a great fight. I root for the guy. I
\nwant him to get the title so I can have a rematch against him for
\nthat belt. That\u2019s what I would like. Of course, we\u2019re here to
\nfight. We\u2019re going to be crossing paths sooner or later. But if the
\nUFC wants me to face him before [then], that would be great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vallejos admitted that he still has more work to do, which is part
\nof why he didn\u2019t focus on making a callout.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say a name because I really want to improve, I want to
\nget better,\u201d he said. \u201cThere are things that I want to work in
\ncamp. Little by little I think I can give more than I even gave
\ntonight. I think I have much more to give and I want to make sure
\nthat I\u2019m prepared for that, so I will take on any challenges I\u2019m
\ngiven.\u201d<\/p>\n

Building for the Future<\/h2>\n

Vallejos latest effort also earned him a $100,000 \u201cPerformance of
\nthe Night\u201d bonus. In a separate interview with the UFC, he revealed
\nhis plans for that money.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026I want to invest the money,\u201d he said. \u201cI want that money to grow,
\nbut there\u2019s one thing I want to do is build a gym in Mar del Plata,
\nArgentina.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to do something, I want to get something that was never
\ndone before, to actually have a full camp out there. I want to give
\nit a little grain of sand to this project, to having new
\ntechniques, having new equipment, having new skills developed out
\nthere and a little gift to Argentina so we can grow MMA down
