Prates is scheduled to fight Maddalena in the main event at
\nUFC
\nPerth<\/a> on May 2. \u201cThe Nightmare\u201d is confident that he will knock
\nout Maddalena in front of the latter\u2019s home fans. Prates notes that
\nhe will have knocked out two former welterweight champions if he
\nstarches Maddalena at UFC Perth. The Brazilian believes a win over
\nMaddalena will make the next welterweight title shot undeniable for
\nhim.<\/p>\n

Who Deserves It More?<\/h2>\n

\u201cI will knock JDM out,\u201d Prates said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.\u201d<\/a> \u201cIf we talk about media, I
\nhave a lot of media [presence] A lot of people like me, and I have
\na lot of fans. There\u2019s talk about whether I deserve it or not. I
\nthink I deserve it. Of course, I will knock JDM out, and then I
\nwill have knocked out two former champions. So who deserves it more
\nthan me?\u201d<\/p>\n

While Prates (23-7) can already make a legitimate case for a title
\nshot, the welterweight division is currently teeming with
\ncontenders like Michael
\nMorales<\/a> and Ian Garry<\/a>.
\nPrates has finished all six of his
\nUFC<\/a> wins so far, while only dropping a decision against Garry.
\n\u201cThe Nightmare\u201d has since rebounded with knockout wins over
\nGeoff
\nNeal<\/a> and former champion Leon
\nEdwards<\/a>. Meanwhile, Maddalena (18-3) won the title against
\nBelal
\nMuhammad<\/a> last year but lost it to Islam
\nMakhachev<\/a> in his first defense. <\/p>\n
