Daniel
\nCormier<\/a> is an athletic specimen. <\/p>\n

A former Olympic wrestler, Cormier, joined the
\nAmerican Kickboxing Academy<\/a> in 2009 to start training MMA.
\nLuke
\nRockhold<\/a> was already an accomplished fighter at AKA by then.
\nRockhold recalls that Cormier could do backflips while weighing
\naround 260 pounds and standing 5\u201910\u201d tall. According to Rockhold,
\nCormier\u2019s wrestling skills at heavyweight allowed him to reach the
\npinnacle of the sport. <\/p>\n

A Certain Confidence<\/h2>\n

\u201c\u2018DC\u2019 was a freak man,\u201d Rockhold said on “the Jaxxon Podcast.\u201d<\/a>. \u201c\u2018DC\u2019 walked into the
\ngym 260 pounds, 5\u201910\u201d, and he could do a backflip. This big fat
\nmotherf\u2014-er\u2019s doing backflips. He had a certain confidence and
\nathleticism\u2026 Being able to have that wrestling at heavyweight, he
\ncould dictate a lot of what\u2019s going on. He always was just very
\nathletic, he had some wrestling and he could throw some
\nhands.\u201d <\/p>\n

Cormier was already 30 when he had his first MMA fight. \u201cDC\u201d joined
\nthe
\nUFC<\/a> in 2013 and went on to become a two-division champion in
\nthe promotion, leaving behind the likes of Anderson
\nSilva<\/a>, Dan
\nHenderson<\/a>, Anthony
\nJohnson<\/a>, Frank Mir<\/a> and
\nAlexander
\nGustafsson<\/a> in his wake. Cormier\u2019s only career losses came
\nagainst Jon Jones<\/a>,
\nconsidered the greatest fighter of all time, and Stipe
\nMiocic<\/a>, considered the greatest heavyweight of all time.
\nCormier hung up his gloves in 2020 following consecutive loss
\nagainst Miocic. Cormier has since taken up coaching when he is not
\non commentary duty for the UFC. <\/p>\n
