Gilbert
\nBurns<\/a> suffered some serious damage in his loss against Michael
\nMorales<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Burns suffered a first-round knockout loss against Morales in May
\nlast year. While Burns\u2019s head was swollen from the impact, it went
\ndown within a couple of days. \u201cDurinho\u201d was briefly doing fine
\nuntil he boarded a flight to Las Vegas during the International
\nFight Week at the end of June. Burns has terrible headache during
\nthe flight and decided to rush to the UFC Performance Institute
\nonce he landed. Tests revealed that Burns still had a concussion
\nfrom his loss against Morales. The former welterweight title
\nchallenger had to go through another month of recovery routine
\nbefore he returned to training.<\/p>\n

\u2018My Head Was Exploding\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe Michael
\nMorales<\/a> fight was the weird one, because I fell,\u201d Burns told
\nMMAjunkie.com<\/a>. \u201cI wasn\u2019t out, but I fell and
\n[my head] got swollen very big, next day bigger. And then the
\nswelling went off and I was good for a week or so\u2026 And then, I
\nthink it was International Fight Week, and I got a flight to Vegas.
\nOn that flight to Vegas, it kind of came back. My head was
\nexploding when I got there. It was sunny and I went to the PI, did
\na bunch of tests, still had a concussion. Felt nauseous, throwing
\nup, and then we had to readjust all the protocol again. Started
\ndoing hyperbaric chambers, going to the diet supplementation again.
\nAfter that it was a month and a half and I was back in
\ntraining.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burns\u2019 (22-9) loss against Morales was his fourth straight in a
\nrow. The Brazilian is now scheduled to face an up-and-coming Mike
\nMallott (13-2) in enemy territory at UFC
\nWinnipeg<\/a> on April 18 at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg,
\nManitoba, Canada. <\/p>\n
