\ncomeback. <\/p>\n

Former
\nUFC<\/a> lightweight champion Anthony
\nPettis<\/a> is scheduled to return against Adil
\nBoranbayev<\/a> at OGF 01 on June 6 at the Almaty Arena in Almaty,
\nKazakhstan. This will mark Pettis\u2019 return to MMA for the first time
\nin nearly four years. <\/p>\n

An Unexpected Pairing<\/h2>\n

Pettis (25-14) was the
\nWEC<\/a> lightweight champion when the UFC took over the promotion.
\n\u201cShowtime\u201d fought in the UFC for a decade before parting ways with
\nthe promotion in 2020. Pettis went 1-4 in the
\nProfessional Fighters League<\/a> and hasn\u2019t fought in MMA since
\nconsecutive losses to Steven Ray<\/a> in
\n2022. Pettis has since defeated Roy Jones Jr. in boxing, Benson
\nHenderson<\/a> at Karate Combat, and suffered a boxing loss against
\nChris
\nAvila<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Boranbayev (22-13) has been fighting for nearly two
\ndecades, having made his professional debut in 2007. The Kazakh
\nveteran is currently in a two-fight slump. <\/p>\n
