Adesanya (24-5) is scheduled to fight Joe Pyfer<\/a>
\n(15-3) in the main event at
\nUFC Seattle<\/a> on Saturday. Pereira recently posted a video of
\nhimself getting knocked out by Adesanya in their rematch at UFC 287
\nin 2023. \u201cPoatan\u201d also wished Adesanya luck for his upcoming fight
\nwhile expressing his gratitude for sharing the Octagon with
\nhim. <\/p>\n

\nwhile tagging Adesanya in the post. \u201cMuch respect to Israel

\npart of my journey. That loss taught me a lot; it pushed me to
\nevolve not only as a fighter, but as a man. I grew, matured, and
\nused it as fuel to reach a higher level in the sport and in life.
\nRegardless of rivalry, I know what it means to step in there \u2014 the
\nyears of work, the pressure, the sacrifice. That\u2019s why I wish you a
\ngreat fight. Go in focused and show your best. We keep evolving.

Pereira (13-3) was the only man to beat Adesanya in Glory
\nkickboxing. Adesanya transitioned to MMA earlier than Pereira and
\nfound stardom in the UFC. Pereira transitioned to MMA much later
\nbut soon found his way into the UFC. Pereira challenged Adesanya
\nfor the UFC middleweight title just a year after making his debut
\nin the promotion. Pereira appeared to be Adesanya\u2019s kryptonite when
\nhe knocked out \u201cThe Last Stylebender\u201d at UFC 281 in 2022.

However, Adesanya put a fairytale ending to the story by knocking
\nout Pereira in their rematch. Pereira subsequently moved up to
\nlight heavyweight where he won and defended the title thrice before
\nfalling to Magomed
\nAnkalaev<\/a>. The Brazilian reclaimed his title by knocking out
\nAnkalaev in their rematch last year. Pereira is now set to fight
\nCiryl
\nGane<\/a> (13-2) for the interim heavyweight title at
\nUFC White House<\/a> on June 14.  <\/p>\n
